Information Technology Internship

Learn about new technologies, sharpen your skills and gain valuable, hands-on work experience. SPIE seeks an information technology intern to assist with desktop system support.

• 6 Month Internship, 20 Hours/Week, $15/Hour
• Great Experience in an Internationally Recognized Organization
• Mid-size Corporate Information Technology Department
• Provide Basic Hardware and Application Support, Windows XP & 7 Support, and other Helpdesk Services.

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, is a non-profit scientific society which publishes research papers and books, organizes world-class scientific conferences, and provides educational opportunities for scientists and engineers.

This position requires excellent customer service skills, analytical ability, computer technology aptitude and the ability to work as a part of a team to gain real world knowledge of the corporate IT support environment. Hands on experience a plus.

To be eligible for this position, you must be a current full-time student in a 2 year or 4 year program at an accredited University, Community or Technical college with a major in computer science, information technology or IS related program. You must be in your 3rd year if enrolled in a 4 year program, or in your 2nd year if enrolled in a community or tech school program. Work hours are flexible and based upon your class load.
