Some exciting FREE workshops coming up through the Sustainble Living Festival - please circulate this invite to your networks or contacts - especially in the 'grow' or 'build' sectors!

Whether you want to build a sustainable home, are passionate about locally-grown food, want to run an energy-efficient business or need help to go solar – the Sustainable Living Festival has it all!

The Sustainable Living Festival runs from October 13-17 and incorporates a series of events including Ride to Work Day, a special Growers market with Garden Guru Phil Dudman and chef and broadcaster Julie Ray, a screening of ‘Food Inc’ at the Jetty Memorial Theatre and the Botanica Spring Festival at the Regional Botanic Garden .

Plus – on Saturday, October 16, the Botanic Garden also plays host to a day of FREE Sustainability Workshops.

There are 12 workshops in total, covering a huge range of topics including:

·         Farming in a Carbon Future by Greg Reid, Department of Primary Industry. He looks at the challenges and opportunities to sustainable farming posed by climate change and carbon trading.

·         Landshare Australia and its Local Application by Garden Guru Phil Dudman and Tom Hackett. Landshare Australia brings together people who have a passion for locally-grown food, to people who have land to share.

·         Building with Industrial Hemp by Klara Marosszeky. Learn how to use hemp as a sustainable building material.

·         Energy Efficiency in Business by Matt Parnell of Green Synergy Consulting. A workshop that explores ways to reduce energy usage in small business.
