Officers meeting 01/20/2023

Below please find the notes from the officer meeting from 01/20/2023.

 

Attendees:  Lindsay Crosbi, Watta Kesselly, Jacqueline Sadashige, Ksenia Plekhanova, Maryruth Dilling.

1. Office Training:  in order to gain a point for a club ( remember we all want to be a president distinguished club) we need 4 officers to attend the training-  officers are still working on it. 

2. PayPal-  in order to pay via paypal going forward, the payee only needs to use bellnoontoastmasetrs club email, no links required. Lindsay will provide the information closer to the payment period. 

3. Theme for February: Black History Month. If you still do not know what your next speech is about, it's a great opportunity to talk about interesting people/events. 

4. Future of the club:  planning 2 open houses March 1st and April 12th. Club definitely needs help from the members. Please help our club grow and be more attractive to the speakers. 

5. Also, we are working on a special project to help members of the club become a " project manager" . More information is coming..

Hi everyone,

I am thinking about hosting the Black History month event on either 2/21/23 at 7 pm, which will be a joint meeting with my other club Northeast Philly Toastmasters. Please let me know if availability is scarce on that day. We can also have the event at Bellnoontime on 2/15/23 at the evening meeting.

LOOKING FOR SPEAKERS:

If your next pathway assignment aligns with social justice, advocacy, or community engagement, please consider writing a speech for the event. The speech's theme should gear towards celebrating, uplifting, and creating community during Black History Month.

My first choice is Bell Noontime on 2/15 so we could have the BHM theme on a noon and an evening meeting. That said, I am open to both options.

Thanks for the summary, Ksenia! I attended an officer training yesterday and joined the VP PR breakout room it seems many clubs are struggling with getting new members and retaining existing members. One tip I thought was useful is to have our members to invite more new members from their own networks. I have done that in my own network but need help from more people :)
