Hi,
Hope everyone has been well and still actively using open source software. I know the group has not been active in a while but we need to keep the group alive by having meeting and discussing what we can do for open source in Belize.
I have been informed that the 2019 ECSL (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encuentro_Centroamericano_de_Software_Libre) held this year in Guatemala had proposed Belize as the venue for the 2020 conference, Some current member's attended and have information on what was discussed.
The ECSL has gotten a lot bigger from when we hosted it here in 2013 with 300 attendees this year in Guatemala and sponsorship from not just host country but participating countries also.
So in order to discuss and prepare for ECSL2020 we will need to show the Group is alive and functional to host such a conference. One way to meet and prepare is to hold a small event, Software Freedom Day is on the 21 Sept and is an event we have held before as a group. I propose we meet and organise something for SFD 2019 and also discuss the ECSL2020.
