As some members may have noticed in the News Microsoft seems to be
making a big move to have GOB use it products. Starting last year when
GOB and Microsoft signed an MOU "to combat government inefficiency and
corruption using digital technology." does any member have a copy of
this MOU or know how to get it.
Now last month they have began training public officers in office 365
a cloud cloud based web app, does anyone know where the data will be
stored if its not in Belize it will not be subject to any of our laws

I think that this is something as an open source group we should speak
out against as most people know microsoft products are not cheap to
the average belizean, does this MOU now mean all GOB docs will be in a
format that requires an expensive program for a regular citizen to be
able to read?
We should speak out about this this type of Vender lock in and ask GOB
to use open document standards.
I am asking members as to what as a group we can do to help GOB use
open source not necessarily apps but standards to avoid being locked
in to one vender that has no ties to Belizean economy
