I am considering getting a new Laptop soon - I plan to buy it at Curry's/PC World in Rushmere - and am wondering which make would best suit installation of Ubuntu? Especially for allowing WiFi access. (the old POS Laptop I got was from a bloke on Gumtree two-and-a-half years ago - lesson learned not to look a gift horse in the mouth)

I'll use DDG for learning how to change booting priorities. :)

We use Lenovo and Dell in work, and many of our people have installed
Ubuntu on theirs without any issues. I had some trouble with the
non-free drivers, but that's because I installed Debian. :-)

Hi,

I agree that Lenovo and Dell are good laptops for Linux.  I personally have a ThinkPad T440s that I bought it in Luxnote Hannover.  They sent it to my address in Belfast with warranty and all.  You may want to check their website.

Kind regards,
Silvia

Hi,
I installed Ubuntu or Lubuntu on a couple of laptops in the last year and all worked fine.
Rarely Wifi needs some extra installation but online community published guidance for it ;-)
