Dualbooting Ubuntu on an old MacBook

I am still awaiting to hear from a friend who would dualboot my old MacBook with Linux; he used Ubuntu. He's a busy man, but hopefully it won't take much longer.

Perhaps if I see him again, he could show me how it should be done.

Have you already installed the Ubuntu system?
In that case you may use Bootcamp from Apple to manage the dual boot.
