Have Nationwide been hacked?

I logged into Online Banking with Nationwide, and I was told to 're-register', which didn't recognise my details.

If they have been hacked, then have I compromised my details?

If you think your bank have been hacked and you've compromised your
details ring the number on the back of your card, don't email a Linux
mailing list.
