You have probably heard
in the news that Maine has
seen an alarming spike in
pedestrian fatalities over
the past two years, and
unfortunately, this year
looks to be on record to
maintain this upward
trend.
In an
effort to reduce the
number of pedestrian
deaths on Maine streets,
the Maine Department of
Transportation has
partnered with the
Bicycle Coalition of
Maine and communities
throughout the state to
produce a series of Pedestrian Safety Forums.
We hope that you
can attend to lend your
input on pedestrian
safety at the upcoming
forum in Rockland on
December 6!
WHAT: Rockland
Pedestrian Safety
Forum
WHEN:
Wednesday, December
6th, 6pm-8pm
WHERE: Oceanside
East High School
Cafeteria, 400
Broadway, Rockland
We want to hear
Rockland residents'
feedback on dangerous
locations and habits
of pedestrians and
motorists to help
MaineDOT
identify areas of
concern that impact
pedestrian safety.
Participants will
receive some tips on
safe road behavior as
well as reflective
safety gear.
Please help
to publicize the forum
by sharing the flier
and Facebook event
with your colleagues,
friends, and
neighbors:
See you there!
