It's been about a week, and I've not managed to set up an IPS repo or
an RPM repo at www.belenix.org. The reason is that Moinak's unable to
get into it to set up an account for me there. We've had a few phone
calls this week, and didn't make much progress.
We're going to give it a shot again this weekend, failing which, we'll
seek help from Al Hopper, the administrator of www.genunix.org who is
also the admin of the www.belenix.org zone.
I've got a few thoughts on making use of this opportunity to seek
advice from Al Hopper on upgrading to a newer version of OpenIndiana
or even smartOS, so that we can test smartOS as a server side OS, and
also set up the platform for a build grid for Continuous Integration.

Eventually we will have to reinstall the box but for now we can figure
out alternative
mechanisms to distributing IPS stuff from transaction bundles, SVR4 pkgs, to
building a separate python.

Moinak.

Sounds good to me. I can generate an SVR4 package, as well as come up
with a means of compiling a newer python such that an IPS depot can
work.
For starters, an rpm5 tar.bz2 + an rpm repo should be good enough to
start with !
I'll call you on your phone to get the password for my account on this server.

Thanks, Al. I'll catch up with Moinak and get into the box.
I send you an offline note about the box itself, and the feasibility
of running smartOS on it.
