Welcome to the weekly status update for the belay research team.

In the last week, we completed the following tasks:
  • Gender and Age attributes now collected from OpenID providers if available, and can be specified in user created profiles.
  • Each section now has an "identity" attribute, which provides the user's OpenID URL from a bound identity along with all attributes that came from it. These can be redacted by the user if they so wish.
  • Users can log in to their station using an OpenID identity, eliminating the role of the belay-belay admin page in normal usage scenarios.
From here on, a large part of our focus will be on making the belay implementation production quality, and to support all browsers that are supported by Google Apps and Google+.

In the coming week, we plan to:
  • Migrate the belay messaging fabric to localStorage from shared workers, as a step towards full support for latest versions of Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
  • Provide a secure means for a website to request station status, with user consent.
  • Provide optimized and minified versions of the belay javascript and css files for all demo sites.

Until next time,
Iain McGinniss | Intern | iain...@google.com
