Hi I'm really sorry for my late respons but this is the first time I'm working with gmail, so I was all the time checking my gmail and not the google groups, sorry! This won't happen again! Just to be sure: what is exactly the role of the members of the supply chain department? Because I thought the professor said in class that the CEO is one of the supply chain members? If that is the case, shouldn't be Brecht and Agung be members of the supply chain department because I read in one of our discussions that Brecht would be the financial CEO and Agung teamleader (or something like that)?

Hi all,

I just quickly read the instructions for the Fresh Connection Game and in my opinion, the role of CEO/team leader can be filled in independently of the role of supply chain management. If I understand well, there will be a separate log in for the team leader. 

So Agung still can take up the role of CEO and Brecht the role of CFO then if I am right.

Preferably the CEO-Team leader is part of the Supply Chain, but as Annelies indicated this in not a necessary condition.

Hi,

I prefer supply chain management instead of purchasing. Based on the information which I found on internet, for the Fresh Connection Project teamwork and consulting are very important for all the roles. 

So, I believe Brecht still could be the CEO (even if he would not doing supply chain management himself) and I agree with this.

I think the most important issue here is the added value you as a person can give to a role so the whole team becomes better.

In that respect, I understand that Patricia has some doubts about her playing the 'Purchasing' role (that's the reason why she didn't pick the role in the first place).
And secondly, like I already stated, it is not a necessary condition that the CEO/Team Leader is part of Supply Chain.

But in order to avoid this becoming a weakness of our team, I think every team member has to be transparent about his thoughts and ideas during the game and shares them immediatly with the group. Communication is essential here and like this we can create a common decision making process within our team. We have already been very active this week, so I think this team will be able to manage the challenge having a CEO not being part of Supply Chain.

If everybody agrees, I will send an email to the assistant later this evening confirming the Belatvindo team (Group 18) with the following roles:

* VP Supply Chain: Annelies Wouters & Patricia Coppens
* VP Purchasing: Agung Darmawan & Brecht Debusschere (CEO/Team Leader)
* VP Operations: Anete Freimane & Aline Bouton
* VP Sales: Ferry Akbar Pasaribu & Nurhalilah 'Dede' Harahap
