As Anete suggested, let us discuss in this topic our possible improvements for Round 2.
Pay attention: there are new options available for some roles!

Thanks. But what should we pay attention more is we need to build more trust. The rest is technical.

please just remember what I said at the beginning. "Just give the numbers and calculations for me.."

maybe the last slide of the presentation can help all to have an idea
to which parts it might be important to pay more attention for each
round. see the table in the last round which states which are the
complexities that are added. For exapmle, I can now obviously see that
we have to take SMED action decision, in order to decrease the
changover time and make the production process faster.

From the OPS side:
I noticed that our finished goods warehouse was really empty - only
22% used (or maybe it was 24). For me it would be important to
actually understand is it because:
1) we have delivered the goods as soon as possible, so no need to have
a big finished goods warehouse?
2) is it because we have failed to produce what we were supposed to produce?
Having a clearer idea on this will help OPS to see how shall we do in
this round.

One more point - I noticed that we have actually
payed a very high amount of money in penalties.

Dear Purchasing Role,

I think we need to terminate some contract for Vit C, Orange, and Mango. Because I don't think we need supplies with Tank measurement. Especially for Vit C, please choose the one with FTL or Drum. Thank you.

Hi Agung,

Because Oranges are purchased in big amounts, will supplying in a tank for this raw material be OK?
For Vit C and Mango, we'll look for other forms of supplies than a tank.

as discussed tonight - we should look into client segmentation and try to offer to offer lower service levels to our clients. in this way we could pay less in penalties.

I am attaching the reports that are available for everything. this could help us to do the assumptions and calculations. I also copied the report on finance, so we could have an idea what went well and what went bad during the last round.
I made some marks for some numbers that caught my eye, but you do not necessarily have to pay attention to these markings

here I will also post what shows on the notification board this week for each dept, so all of us could get a very quick idea what are the sort of suggested issues:
Purchase: Delivery reliability suppliers. Tampa Fruits is significantly less reliable than was agreed to
Ops: cube utilization finished goods warehouse. The finished goods warehouse is relatively empty, with pallet locations open.
Sales: Obsolete products (%) You have few issues with regard to obsoletes. Service level outbound order lines. A lower service level than agreed to is being provided to Dominick's, Food & Groceries and LAND Market.
Supply chain:
Availability components (%) There is a low level of availability for component Vitamin C for production.
Stock components: Vitamin C, Mango and Orange have a high level of stock.
Stock products. Fressie Orange 1 liter, Fressie Orange PET and Fressie Orange/Mango 1 liter have a low level of stock.

Actually we should somehow create somewhere an overview of the decisions made. It would be easier to analyse the overall impact or smth. For example, I have already managed to forget a few original values that were given the last round.
I have created an online spreadsheet where we can include the decisions made. If you find it useful, please do not hesitate to use it. If you have any ideas how we could do it differently, do not hesitate to amend the spreadsheet or maybe suggest something else. Dear all,

Please find in attachment the work document for Purchase. It is for your information.

In round 2, purchasing has extra information regarding the transport mode (truck, boat,...). In my opinion, this doesn't change a lot in our decisions at this moment.
I believe we can look into improving the mode of supplying as Agung suggested.

Annelies

PS Anete, you sheet looks wonderful. I will take a look the coming days to fulfill it.

Dear all,

After being able to re-read again the game, I realised that the biggest problem actually lies on the supply chain, as it has not been able yet to comply with the demand from the customers. Therefore, before continuing the sales, I would wait for the calculation made by Agung and Brecht.

See you tonight.

Dear all,

I'm sorry but because of the bad weather the past 3 days, I couldn't make it to class. I read all your posts on google group, I'll discuss our purchasing role with Annelies this Friday (before or after class) and the result of the 1st round in general.

See you Friday!

Kind regards,

Patricia
