Visit to Govt. Primary school, Sarjapur on 6th Jan
On 6th Jan , few of Belaku members as decided had been on a visit to Govt. Primary school in Sarjapur.

There are 3 teachers who take classes and about 130 students, mostly children of the labourers, garment fact workers. The school is in a bad condition due to the fact that it is in a plcae where a main road is being built and it will be shifted to another place shortly. Inspite of all this there was no dearth of enthu among the students. The teachers were good as well.

Request by the school teachers included :

1) Plastic chairs
2) Table
3) Sports Items
4) Books
5) Beeru (Almariah)

As the academic year is about to come to an end the teachers themselves said that it wud be late in giving the books.

Later on , BELAKU members decided that these things would be better at this point of time.

1) Sports Items like ring, Tennis ball etc for sports activities
2) Table
3) Beeru
4) KG cardboards as suggested by one of the members.
5) printouts of latest update on General Knowledge

1) SP
2) Raghunath
3) Madhukar
4) Aakash
5) Praveen (Aakash's friend)
6) Manoj (Bijju's fd)

Hi Bharath

Iam forwading one request to be posted for Belaku Group.

Sri Deenadayal Education and Cultural Society, established in 1966 and registered to the government of Mysore, runs a school for poor and lower middle class families.
It is situated in Model Colony Yeshwanthpur , Bangalore -22.

This school now educates kids from very poor families who can with great difficulty afford a meal a day.
The school provides free education and with help from Iskon provides free meal as well.

But it is now struggling to pay the rent for the building it is situated in and funds are diminishing.
Also the school is fighting litigation for the land sanctioned to school.

Those in Belaku or any NGO willing to help financially or in any form would be very useful.
Please forward this mail to any other NGO or any people willing help for this noble cause.

Thanks & Regards
- Prashanth
