Hi,

We are interested in some SVN repository browser to have a look at our
SVN repository. We are looking for a webapplication that visualizes
everything. We want to see the changes between 2 commits, who did the
commit, when did he did the commit and lots of other metadata.

I could find the following software packages:

* SVN::Web
* ViewVC
* WebSVN
* Trac

Are there some people who want to share their experiences with one (or
more) of these packages?

Regards,
Jochen

I have used both ViewVC and Trac and both of them were adequate for my
needs. I do have a slight preference for ViewVC because it's a bit
easier to see the changes between revisions.

But like Stephan suggested, If you have some money to spend, go for
Fisheye. Atlassian products are great!

Hi Stephan,

I had a look at FishEye ... and I must say: I love it :-). We are
running Confluence too, so the integration of another Atlassian
product would be nice.
I checked the system requirements, the installation process and the
configuration process, and I don't have any questions about it.

I'm just wondering what this means:

Disk space:
----------------
In the worst case scenario, your budget for free disk space should
meet or exceed three times the size of your repository data. For
example, with 80GB of repository data, you would ideally have 3 x
80GB, hence 240GB of free disk space dedicated to FishEye. However
this will not usually be necessary, especially if you have a number of
sizeable binary files inside your repository (which increase its size
but have a relatively small impact on the index).

I don't get it: why does FishEye needs 3 times as much space as SVN
data/repo takes? What kind of files does it store there?
Can you help me out with that question?

Jochen

Thanks for your reply Jurgen.

ViewVC has a missing lack of layout/design, but works fine.
Trac has a nice layout/design and seems to me working great. But as we
have the budget to buy a SVN repo browser, we're gonna go for FishEye!

Another question: we are running Confluence standalone. FishEye can
only be configured as a standalone application. So our server will run
2 Tomcat's. Is it possible to bring them in one server?
