My laptop has been freezing up a lot lately and after trying everything I could think of, I downloaded the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware. I ran a scan and its detected 25 registry keys and a bunch of files and folders. The files and folders I'm not worried about, but is it safe to remove all those registry key items without it messing up my laptop? I've attached screenshots of the list of "malicious software" malwarebytes has detected.

When I turned my computer on I wanted to watch some videos with The Core Media Player from www.corecoded.com. When I opened it, it said some error about quartz.dll try reinstalling it or w/e. I googled quartz.dll about what this thing is. Some say it can or cannot be bad or something. So I decided to open malwarebytes and restore quartz.dll. I still had problems so i deleted it. It's still in the recycling bin. I did a windows update thinking it would fix the problem.(there were a couple updates I forget which.) It did not fix the problem. So I was thinking if this was just some playback problem I decided to re-install CCCP(Combined-Community-Codec-Pack- ) [it was already installed I just thought if i reinstalled it would fix the problem.]

I tried using Media player Classic. It wouldn't play the video I wanted which was AVI. Tried playing other files like .MKV with VLC player. No video would show just sound. I'm soo mad about this. It makes me with I never tried malwarebytes if I knew I would have issues like this.

Malwarebytes is one of the most popular and most used anti-malware software for Windows, and for good reasons. It is able to destroy many types of malware that other software tends to miss, without costing you absolutely nothing. When it comes to cleaning up an infected device, Malwarebytes has always been free and we recommend it as an essential tool in the fight against malware.

I have recently been having a lot of issues with my PC. It freezes at random intervals (light doesn't come on keyboard when I press caps lock), the mouse lags around the screen and it performs badly. I'm running windows vista on a dell inspiron 530. I've ran scans with: Avast, malwarebytes, superantspyware and spybot search and destroy but all to no avail. I attempted to run a hijack this scan, I got a message telling me my system denied write access to the host file, I was running it as administrator at the time so it wasn't that, after I clicked OK it reached the end of the scan and I got the message: cannot find the C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HiJack This\hijack.log file. Do you want to create a new file? Then yes no or cancel, no matter what I click I'm presented with an empty notepad document. Could anyone help me out.

If your computer becomes infected, the best way to remove Zeus Trojan malware is to use a Trojan removal tool. Download the anti-malware software, and then clear out the Trojan infection like you would remove a computer virus.

This is where you need a different antivirus software you are currently using, you need a secondary security malware designed to scan and remove rootkit malware such as a keylogger. These standalone anti-malware software are designed from ground up to scan undetectable rootkits.

In March 2009, the Conficker worm was transformed once again. This time, the HTTP pull was increased from eight TLDs to 110 TLDs per day and P2P connections were utilized. The custom protocol was installed to scan for infected peers via UDP to then transfer the worm via TCP. Conficker D also saw a massive increase in its self-defense protocols used as a prevention method against software that attempted to get rid of the malicious code. It made use of an in-memory patch of the DNSAPI.DLL to block searches for anti-malware/antivirus-related websites, disabled Safe Mode, and began a malicious code that terminated anti-malware/antivirus software in one-second intervals.

No specific antivirus or anti-malware software is more effective than another to remove the Conficker Virus. During the height of Conficker propagation, Microsoft, the Conficker Cabal, CWG, and government entities put a lot of effort into sorting out the problem. However, the single greatest method to get rid of it is updating the Microsoft Windows operating system to a newer version that lacks the vulnerability Conficker makes use of it.
