I did choose both input and output as Babyface but, in Ableton it's not there. I need to use RME Driver in order to use the guitar output, Is there a way to get a sound out of a plugged in guitar into Babyface while using Coreaudio (Main driver of Mac) you think?
Wow I made it! I thought I should have selected RME Driver on Ableton like Windows. But after you told me I don't need to select it. I found out that AN 2 Channel on Total Mix FX has Instrument option, when clicked on the little wrench. I got to hear now.
As you can select Babyface input and output in the system that means the Babyface is using the Babyface driver and this driver use coreaudio in macs.
And yes you can use the guitar and listen other tracks all at the same time.
In Ableton preferences there should it be possible to select system audio or Fireface (or Babyface), not a driver, an input device and an output device to select.
Hi, I have a problem when I set the Iac driver for creating a stopped track and then have one low note in order to stop the session the problem is that whenever the Gig performer is on this note that I programmed to stop the session is actually played a low note in Gig performer. how can I separate those two tasks? I need 1 note to stop the Ableton session with is going to ch 1 and another 1 for change the program (sound) in the Gig performer to Ableton
11.2 a stopped track is simply a midi clip that I create one note and can assign it to do whatever I want in my case, for example, I set the note c-2 to be trigger stop action meaning the Ableton will stop automatically after the note c-2 is pressed. my problem is that I hear c-2 play for example piano sound from Gig Performer and I want to make it somehow separate so that I have 1 IAC driver that changes the program (variations and Rackspace) and another one to control different parameters in Ableton. Is there an option to send Rackspace and variations to different channels and not only 1 ?
If you are using the USB B connection on the back of the mixer and have the USB driver installed, go to Ableton Live preferences > Audio and select the Qu ASIO driver as your audio device. You can then configure your inputs and outputs to enable the I/O you need.
Once this is done, you can source a track from a Qu input by select Ext in as your Audio From setting and selecting the channel you want to source from (inputs 1 to 5 for example). Then for your Audio To setting you can use Ext Out and select the channel you want to send the track to (channels 6 to 10 for example).
Good afternoon friend, I have acquired a QU 16, I have previously installed the DAW Control, then I have connected it through the usb port that is located on the back of the QU 16 to a Mac Book, it has perfectly recognized the inputs and outputs in Ableton Live 10, I open the DAW Control and configuring it respectively, Mixer: qu series, Midi channel: 2, protocol: HUI, option: midi ports and input and uotput ports to QU 16.
We are pleased to announce the release of a new version of the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver for Mac.
The version 2.0.2 now ensures compatibility with macOS Catalina and resolves some minor issues.
For detailed information, we ask you to refer to the corresponding version history on the download page.
Best regards,
Stefan Schreiber
Another issue was that my interface appeared twice in the list. After running several uninstaller and installing version 2.0.2 again, this problem was solved but the problems above have persisted all the time.
However, today I launched Ableton etc, went to preferences, and ableton gave me a warning about not supporting devices that dont have stereo inputs, which was odd. THen, even more oddly, Ableton decided to stop seeing it entirely after about 5-6 attempts to select it again.
Since the latest Overbridge and OS upgrade of the Digitakt i have a strange problem.
When i drag Digitakt or Analog Heat from the Ableton browser into a miditrack both machines are out of sync .
But, when i drag the whole track to a random track of session view the machines sync.
Update: After some testing saving a project in ableton, opening the project everything starts out of sync again, clicking a couple of times on Live stop button resets the sync.
So my guess is overbridge does not get a proper reset command when loading the plugs into live.
It is happening often enough that without word of an update I plan to revert, which is a bummer because this last DT update is so great. Any word from Elektron that they can repeat this issue? Happy to go into further detail about my setup if it would help isolate the bug.
Will just hijack this thread instead of opening a new one.
DT always fails the latency measurement. Has anybody seen that and knows what to do?
DT is still playing but like 100 ms behind everybody else and the start / stop sync is not 100% reliable, sometimes working and sometimes not.
Already updated from OB 2.0.58 to 2.0.60 but still the same.
I have switched my audio interface recently, maybe that has caused the trouble?
All other OB boxes work fine and btw I am on Win 10 and DT on 1.30.
Any help highly appreciated!
EDIT: Sorry, I have found a better suiting thread for this, wish I could move my post over. I can not re-activate any Ins or Outs in OB Control Panel, there are no buttons. But everything looking fine as ever.
What I have found out by myself regarding the problem:
I think there is some kind of interference between my Digitakt and my audio interface Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. I have already spoken to Focusrite but they could not really help.
So the problem starts when I turn on the DT. When I am doing so without DAW (Ableton) open OB behaves pretty normal and the Engine shows the DT as idle. However sound is gone from my Scarlett and not coming back until i reboot the PC (Win 10) although everything is looking normal in the system. No error messages or anything.
If turn on the Digitakt after having started Ableton I get this Latency measurement failure as described before. The scarlett on the other side behaves totally normal. However in this case I am able to use the DT - despite error message - I just get a latency of probably 100 or 200 ms which is not really usable.
Somehow I think the issue must be on the Elektron side because I also have DN, AH, A4 and absolutely no issues with them. It is only the DT which is acting up.
The same behaviour here with WIN 10 and UMC1820. Sounds like the timeline from Digitakt piches up from time to time. I have the same Problem with the Standalsone Version also. Its drives me insane. Do you have any ideas?
Same problem here . Digitakt 1.30 OB is 1.60 and ableton 11 . Windows 10 . I have changed usb cables , removed earlier versions of ableton. Reinstalled ableton and my audio interface driver .
Tempo will speed up and go back . Sometimes it goes back to 120 and then ignores sync .
I'm trying to get the Babyface working and stable w/ Ableton Live 9.21 on Windows 8.1. I had a number of problems getting the drivers and Total mix installed but upgrading the firmware to 223 seems to have gotten the basic installation sorted.
After testing this further, I'm finding problems with other Windows audio playback. Ex. In iTunes, audio playback will stop after a couple of minutes. Playback won't work again until I quit and restart iTunes.
I haven't had any problems with other USB audio interfaces on this laptop. However, I've spent a lot of time trying to get the Babyface to work and I'm going to have to give up at this point. A shame because I love the way it sounds but I need something with rock steady install and reliability.
I need this because I'm trying to get tutoring lessons on Ableton and my tutor is saying that on ableton I should see "Zoom Audio". From my experience Ableton will show any available output that the mac recognizes, so that tells me zoom isn't using it's own driver when it's on.
Hello I'm having a significant problem with Desktop Window Manager and GPU usage while using ableton. When I'm in ableton the cpu meter is maxing out often when ableton isn;t using too much RAM or GPU. However task manager displays extemely high gpu usage. I've tried so many things I can't remember them all. To name a few I've tried:
Redirects here:
= -processor-diagnostic-tool.html
Noticed the issue as I started using it. I don't believe it was update related.
I'm honestly not sure how to check with Asus or CUK to make sure this is was set up correctly (although I can only assume they'll say if they sent it out that it was working properly). Is this something where I'd be sending my laptop back to them? If so, I'd like to reserve that option until other options are exhausted.
Thanks for the help Deivid.
Ok, I did bios update and clean install. I've checked forums on ableton and cannot find anything on this issue. I will continue to search.
The problem persists.
To be more specific. When I open the program, GPU for DWM is between 7-15%. Not too much of a problem. The problem is, as i start using the programs features, GPU (for DWM) goes crazy high. And it sits around 40-60%, even when music isn't playing and no actions are taken. If music plays it can and does regularly overload.
Here is a photo of the performance in task manager while a "set" is in progress but no actions are being taken and no music is playing.
Ok, I've updated drivers for Nvidia and some very recent ones from Intel. No change there.
However, I've changed the 3d settings in Nvidia control panel to Integrated GPU and changed windows settings to "allow hardware accelerated GPU. This changed the settings so Nvidia GPU is being used. See photos.
I am glad to know that the Nvidia card now is working an expected and as per the situation with the Desktop Window Manager usage, allow me to check this behavior internally to confirm if we can take action or Microsoft.
