That’s Beijing Magazine is looking for an ambitious young writer to work across platforms, covering everything from social issues to the latest restaurant openings. The successful candidate will have a strong writing background, demonstrable reporting experience and a familiarity with China.

 

This is a full-time, entry level role, ideally suited to someone looking for their first break in Beijing.

 

The ideal candidate:

 

·       Adept at both writing and editing posts – particularly in relation to the social web

 

·       An instinctive understanding of what makes a compelling story

 

·       Requisite balance of enthusiasm and cynicism

 

·       Solid work ethic – with a willingness to work late night and weekends if required

 

·       Broad social interests

 

·       Good sense of humor

 

·       Reasonable level of spoken and written Chinese, preferred but not essential
