Did anyone see a witch hut? How about a slime spawning at night in the swamps? I'm excited about that one.

Who's already conquered the Wither?

Details. I need details!!

uh, I fed some chickens some seeds.

There are several more subtle sounds (differentiation across different walking surfaces, monster footsteps, etc) mostly subtle but all good so far!

Oh that's right! And we get pumpkin pie now, too. I think. I love farming crap. Ima make a big old potato farm first thing. Someone remind me: How do we get carrots?

Carrots will spawn planted in NPC villages. Unfortunately, you will probably need to respawn a swamp and the villages to get the new stuff.

The other option is to travel to an entirely new area to make new areas spawn with new stuff, unless witch huts are like other mobs and will spawn periodically.

ya since i dont think people want a new world we will have to travel
further to see huts. fortunately witches dont drop anything special.
fortunately also carrots and potatoes are rare drops from mobs (seeing
as no one has found any villages yet)
wither skeletons are pretty tough and after a couple hours i have only
managed to kill about 10 of them(heads are a rare drop), it would be
in our best interest (if u want wither and beacons)to find another
nether fort.

Everything is getting so spread out it's hard to get to each other's houses now.

We've found at least one village.

ya i dont like it, ideally we would all be close to one another and
have like a central city, share crops and farms. but it seems everyone
wants there own kingdom, i know several of you have giant multifloor
mountains that you have terraformed. its fine, people like to build, a
lot. the further we venture out, the larger the world becomes. then
the file size becomes larger. then there is more lag (maybe im not
sure on what contributes to lag).

now when a new feature such as witch huts comes out, we have to find a
undiscovered swamp to maybe get to see it.

its fine, this is what single player is for (seeing new features in
fresh new worlds)

"We've found at least one village."
now we need to find another because they grow carrots and potatoes now.
but we dont NEED to because they are also rare drops from mobs.

there are also ways to lets say, start a new world and cut and paste
things into it with world editors. so not all will be lost.
i know a lot of people have put a lot of time into the world we have
now so i dare not even suggest a world restart.

i would be interested in seeing a giant world map of this server, i
know quite a few people have traveled off to the middle of nowhere and
built really cool things.

Slimes have been spawning like crazy on my own server. I've got a ton of those slime balls now.

I should go look for a witch hut!

I've looked around a bit for a world map generator. They're out there, but a lot of times w/ stuff like that they assume a level of programming savvy that I don't have.

I've been meaning to start a thread for everyone to post their house coordinates (if they don't mind visitors) and also coordinates to good places like maybe spawners (Skelly, blaze, etc.),

I get what you're saying about the file size. When this server started it was all vanilla and casual and not planned out. I think people like that. Or maybe they don't and they just haven't said. This list is the first attempt at a centralized place for people to talk about anything. I'd be very interested to know more about file size and lag and all that to see if we should start considering that stuff. But that's more for the programmery type people.

I used Overviewer on my server. Super simple to use - just point it at your server's data files and it renders a snapshot of your world. After that it's just a matter of creating a web page that points to your google map data (I bet you know some web devs LOL).

You can take a gander at my map here it you are interested:

Sometimes it takes a couple of attempts to get the web page on my MC server to load - not sure if thats because of Comcast or DynDNS. Unfortunately I can't afford to spin up a dedicated server on AWS at the moment so just gotta deal I guess. :)

I got to play and it was awesome!! We have potatoes now and carrots!! The doors work better! I made night vision and invisibility potions! Greg got a shit ton of slime balls in the swamp!! We saw bats! Greg made an anvil and repaired and improved some stuff. The new endermen sound is scary. It was a fun night! :)

Also, if you haven't gotten a carrot or potato drop yet and want to start farming them, stop by our place and grab a few...with bonemeal you can have more than you'll need in no time.
