wither skeletons, beacons, shoes, and 1.4

with 1.4 three days away we will be getting a number of new features (assuming we update the server).

one of the new features is beacons.

beacons are neat in that they shoot light into the sky(the top) and give buffs to all around them (depending on the type of beacon built)

this will make a number of things easier, mineing, fighting, ect.

but these beacons are hard to make.

we will need to fight tons of WITHER SKELETONS which spawn in the NETHER FORTRESSES.

right now we have a path to one of the N-FORTS. but seeing as how my character is king ghast, ruler of the nether, I have found other N-FORTS.

but yes we will need to fight tons of wither skeletons in order to get WITHER SKELETON HEADS (which is a rare drop).

with 3 WITHER SKELETON HEADS we will be able to build the WITHER.

the WITHER is a boss, he is a skeleton boss, he is a 3 headed skeleton boss, he is a flying 3 headed skeleton boss, he also shoots heads, these heads explode, he shoots 3 before he reloads.

so this dude is tough, tough to beat 300HP (at 150HP he gets an arrow reflecting shield), tough to summon (need 3 rare wither skeleton heads)

but he drops the NETHER STAR

which is one of the things we will need to make the beacon block.

we also need glass to make the beacon block. which is also tricky because that means we have to go into the desert.

oh yea? well i never asked you. and also i dont like going into the desert because it makes me thirsty... really thirsty.

oh yea to make a full powered beacon you need 164 BLOCKS of ore (you can mix match gold/iron/diamond/emerald) which is 1476 pieces of ore.

yea dude i know you have like 3000 diamonds and thats no problem for you, but it is for me, being king ghast of the nether i need to craft a lot of shoes... because i love shoes... so i dont have many ore left over after making so many... shoes.

anyways i hope this absolutely impossible and time consuming task has inspired everyone to work a little harder in the mines and stop goofing around building music note blocks and redstone to play 'golden oldies' songs.

One thing to keep in mind about beacons is that once you are outside
its area of effect, the buff only lasts 8 seconds. The maximum area of
effect is 81x81 blocks. To see how big (or small) that is, take a look

I'm JSK103 on the server, btw. I haven't been on much at all as I'm
working on a major build on another server and I've been busy in real
life as well, but I should be on more soon.

I think instead of ore we should be able to build the beacon out of Note Blocks.
