Ourmedia team is available to field journalist inquiries concerning civil rights and liberties. Members of the press can schedule an interview with an NYCLU expert by emailing me...@nyclu.org or calling us at (212) 607-3372.

To inquire about getting NYCLU assistance, please complete the Request For Legal Assistance Form (PDF) and send it to the NYCLU either by mail, fax, or email. It is important that you do not send us documentation or legal papers because we cannot guarantee their return. If we need more information, we will contact you. Please be sure to include a mailing address.

Because the NYCLU is a private and non-profit organization with limited resources, we can only accept a small percentage of the very large number of matters brought to our attention. Please note our provision of information regarding how to make requests for legal assistance does not mean that we will be able to assist you in your particular situation or represent you.

The NYCLU is a public-interest law firm that prioritizes challenges to government laws, policies, and practices affecting the civil liberties and civil rights of a significant number of people in New York State. Almost all of our cases involve constitutional issues and because the United States Constitution and New York Constitution protect only against unlawful government action, we rarely take on disputes involving private companies. Generally, the NYCLU only takes on issues that can affect a large number of people directly or involving a small number of people or an individual that could set a precedent that would impact a significant number of people. We are especially interested in issues that may break new ground in interpreting constitutional rights. For examples of the types of issues the NYCLU addresses, view our list of cases.

Given that the NYCLU can accept only a small percentage of the large number of matters that are brought to our attention, you may want to review our referrals list to view agencies that may be able to assist you.

If we are able to respond, we will contact you using the contact information you provided in this report. Depending on the type of report, response times can vary. If you need to reach us about your report, please refer to your report number when contacting us. This is how we keep track of your submission.

Due to the amount of reports we receive, it can take several weeks for us to respond to your issue. Local legal aid offices or lawyers in your area may be able to quickly respond to or help with your concern

I've been asked to include curve numbers on a plan set. I thought using 'Alignment Curve Segment Number" in the Label Style would work. When I added that to the Label it seemed to at first, at least for the first curve. Now all I get is ???. The Alignment doesn't have that many curves. So I could edit the labels by hand. But I thought I should know how to do it correctly. Any thoughts?

We place the tag labels on the alignment (C1, C2, C3, etc.) and then want to put a box of the data in the vicinity, and have the box contain a reference to the placed tag label. Example below. There is no way that I can see to reference the TAG label in a second label. Note the C5 in the box.

It's the number (also known as CSA or CSF numbers) that OPM uses to identify retirement (annuity) accounts and accrued benefits. Like a bank account number, your claim number is unique and cannot be changed. Use your claim number when signing in to your account on OPM Retirement Services Online, when completing official OPM forms, or when you call or write to us.

Please make sure your first and last name, phone number, email address, claim number, and signature are included in any inquiries or documents you mail to us. We usually respond within 1 to 3 weeks after we receive your mail.

You should only fax us documents if an official OPM form or one of our Customer Service Specialists asks you to (the fax number will be provided on the form, or the Customer Service Specialist will provide you one.) Otherwise, you should mail us your documents.

I was given the task to find out how the Point number can be edited in Civil 3D 2021. I have managed to change the raw description and location of the point but I have not been able to find how to change the point number. ex. the 1 and the 91

There are a few ways. If you select the points and rightclick you should see "Edit Points". This will bring up the point editor. OR in the right click you will see renumber. Or when you select the point/points you contextual ribbon should switch and look for "renumber". If the points came from a survey database that can be a little more difficult.

Survey database is the Civil 3D database. It depends on how you imported the points: Insert>Insert points from file (editable), or via the survey database (point number not directly editable, but N, E, El, Desc. are). Insert points from file allows the methods described above. To edit points in a survey database (Survey tab on the Toolspace), right click the database name and select Open for edit. Unless it's already open for edit, then you will not see this in the right-click context menu. Then the best way to renumber and have the database current is to edit the original point file. Each point file imported is listed in Import Events. Afetr you get the point file right (an ascii txt file in my case, so I can do it in Excel or manually), right-click the point file under Import Events and select Re-import. When prompted Overwrite all points. Note - if you have "old" points that do not have a corresponding point (number) in the edited point file drawing they will not be overwritten and must be deleted manually in the survey database by clicking points, finding the old points in the list, right-click and delete. So you may want to right-click the point file under Import Events and delete it before re-importing it . To re-import a point file that was first deleted right-click on Import Events and select Import survey data. Good times. But IMO your point files should always be correct so someone doesn't start a new drawing, import the points and have it be wrong.

If its from a file that has observations you can select the point and use the "Browse to Survey Data" and the observations editor will open and you can edit there. Its a little clunky. Word of warning, you can still select and just renumber, but you loose the connection to the survey database. I try to avoid editing a survey database. I try to get the files in good order prior in bring them in. Depending on what you are doing it may be easier to edit the original file and re import. Or you can reimport and use the Assign offset to point identifiers and add an offset to all. Just remember when you reimport you loose any network edits.
