The final farm tour of the season will be this Satuday, October 8th, at 3pm at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES) in Amherst Junction. Scott Johnson, CWES Director, and Sarah Lang, Beginning Farmer Intern at CWES this year, will be hosting a tour of the garden they developed this summer.

Over the past several years CWES has transitioned their food service to include as many fresh, local foods as possible. This year they are added a large vegetable garden to their efforts to serve to station guests during year round workshops and to integrate sustainable agriculture education into their natural resources programs. The garden includes raised beds as well as some Permaculture features and will soon include a chicken coup and rainwater harvesting. This will be a tour of a garden getting started.
