Hi folks,

I remember that Kat mentioned Hsu's organic soil mix was a good
source, are there any others? My friend and I are starting seeds this
weekend and they are not open this weekend. Any other suggestions
would be appreciated. I always used Vermont Compost, but I would like
to buy local.

Thanks,
Emily

Hi Emily
I've always made a mix of one part peat, one part compost(you could get locally at Busy Bee) or use fox farm's bedding mix not potting mix (the red bag), one part perlite, 1/2 part vermiculite.  Watch the peat moss label as some is chemically treated for water retention.
you could also add some earthworm castings if they are going to be potted up for some time(for a little added nitrogen).

Have Fun Planting,

Marcus
feel free to call with any ?s
