TheAir Relief Assembly can be installed by a homeowner. It requires that you unthread the old one, wrap some teflon tape around the threads of the new valve, and thread it back into place.

My relief valve is dripping. I have a Purex-Triton Filter model #CC100..Design flow=100 g.p.m. and 6.5 psi residential. There is a pin number on the tank housing =178555..Do I need to purchase the entire relief valve OR the very small "O" rings inside the valve? I have had this unit since 2000. I do not know if this assembly 998209800 is the correct fit But it sure looks like it! Thanks

Hi Charlie, This would be the correct air relief for the Purex-Triton Clean & Clear CC100 filter. For the CC100 filter I do not show where the small o-ring is sold separately so I would suggest the entire air relief.

Hello, Dave. Yes, the Pentair FNS Plus D.E. Filter is comparable to the Purex Triton FNS Plus D.E. Filter. You may use the Pentair FNS Plus D.E. Filter Parts Page as a guide for all parts needed for replacement.

I just ordered one of these assemblies tonight from you. My pressure relief valve is leaking at the base where it screws into the filter top. It looks like it has a crack in the relief valve body at the threads. My question is: what is the plastic clamp used for and where does it go? I don't see that clamp anywhere on my filter (Pentair Clean and Clear model 160317).

Is the Pentair 98209800 valve interchangeable with the 98209804 valve? I have the American Products Commander lid & I thought I was buying the correct valve when I bought the 98209804.

What's the outer diameter of the air/water output on this? (You know, the part that sprays you if you stand in front of it) I need to attach a small piece of tubing to redirect the water that sprays out when I release the pressure and I don't see that listed on the spec sheet(s).

Will this work on an American Products Titan CM model 57026000 DE filter? All I really need is a replacement manual bleed valve stem - the washer is bad & it leaks air/water.Does that part exist?

Opened my pool and can't get my filter completely air tight. No drips or leaks present. Cleaned the pump thoroughly. My question is this: could the pressure monitor be the cause of my problem?

Hi, Pat. If the filter is not airtight, since it's on the pressure side of your system water will out of the area where it is not sealed including the air relief assembly. The problem may not be the filter. You can use our How to Identify and Correct Air Leaks guide to help you resolve this matter.

I replaced the relief valve and gauge last year. Seems to be working fiine, but recently when I turned the cap to relief the pressure it wouldn't click back into closed position. It's not leaking, but I don't think it's closed properly. Is that adjustable? Any thoughts?

Hello Jim- Yes the Air Relief Manual Valve Assembly (98209800) would be the correct assembly for your filter. The clamp is for the older models that had a hose that connected to the air relief on the side.

Even though it is a barb fitting No hose actually attaches to the air relief valve. A relief valve is just that, needing an immediate relief, attaching a hose to it will slow down the release pressure.

Hi Mel, I guess a better way to word this, is that the manufacturer does not supply the internal o-rings as a replacement part they only sell down to the air relief assembly and not parts within the air relief assembly. You may be able to track down o-rings that match the exact size of those within the assembly but unfortunately, we do carry those.

Right. The part is not serviced down to that level, similar to auto parts that could be repaired, but are not serviceable, causing the whole part needing to be purchased. I tried some small orings for the internal stem and they seem to hold back leaks pretty well. Thanks for responding.

Customer has this valve on filter, but when I press down and turn counterclockwise, the unit doesn't vent. When I twist harder, the whole unit wants to twist around on top of the filter. Is valve defective, clogged, or am I doing something wrong? Does the valve come without the guage as the guage works fine. Also, the unit is not leaking currently.

I have water dripping from the pressure release valve on my Purex triton warrior at the opening where the water rushes out when you open it. It continues to drip once its closed. Do I just need a whole new one. And will this one fit

Will this valve be the right replacement for a Pentair Clean & Clear Plus CCP420? Currently my relief valve will not completely stop the flow of water when it's twisted closed, so I suppose this is the problem?

Hello. The CMP Air Relief Assembly 4655-03D is NOT compatible with the Pentair Nautilus Stainless DE Filter. The Air Relief Manual (261003) is the correct replacement manual air relief assembly for this model.

Hello Ronald. The Custom Molded Products Air Relief Valve Assembly 4655-03D is NOT compatible with the Pentair Triton II Fiberglass Sand Filter. The Air Relief Assembly Kit by CMP for Pentair Triton II is the compatible assembly. The Air/Tee Bleeder Assembly (154689) is identical in both assemblies, however, the filter attachment points are not. The Back Mount Pressure Gauge is a compatible pressure gauge with the Triton II Air Relief Assembly Kit.
