I have tried everything I can think of, and I cannot get beets to embed lyrics into my MP3 files.  Not sure what I am doing wrong here.  My config.yaml looks like this:

directory: ~/Music
library: ~/Music/musiclibrary.blib

plugins: fetchart lyrics embedart lyrics

import:
    move: yes
    write: yes

That's odd. What's the output of "beet lyrics"? Anything interesting in the verbose log?

And how are you verifying that lyrics are embedded—with beets itself or some other program?

I redid the import yesterday and it imported the lyrics and properly tagged the files finally.

The same happened to me. I tried reimporting everything but it did not work, the files are not getting the lyrics tag.

I can see lyrics with `beet lyrics QUERY -p`, but they are not being embedded in the files.

Does `beet write` do the trick?

Also, do you have “import.write” turned on in your config file?

Yes. I have `import.write`, and `beet write` seems not to do anything.

I'm suspecting Quod Libet is not reading the right tag. What would be
the right command line to confirm that a lyric was correctly embedded
into a file?

Ah, good question. Two courses of action come to mind:

- Look at the Quod Libet docs or source to find out which tag they’re reading for lyrics.
- Use some other software—VLC or PuddleTag or metaflac or whatever—to confirm.

Thanks for investigating!

It turns out that Quod Libet is not reading the right tag. Didn't
check wich one it is reading.

gmusicbrowser on Linux and RocketPlayer on Android can read the
correct tags, so I guess everything's working nice on beets.

Thanks for the help.
