Disc number only on multi disc

Is there a way to only have a disc number if the track numbering calls for it.

Most of the time you get track 1-24,not 1-17/1-7(disc 1/2), so it still doesn't need a disc number. And surely if it is a single disc, I don't need disc 1.

This is finicky for sure, but before beets I cleared disc number from all albums during tagging and I noticed now it is back even on things I know are just one disc.

If not, I'll live with it

That's for folders, I mean more specifically in the id3 tag from MB

Ah, I see.

The disc number is a separate field. You might be able to set it to null using the `zero` plugin, but I'm not sure how you would do that conditionally for single-disc albums.

Maybe it would be better to fix whatever player software you're using to teach it that "disc 1/1" is correct but not worth displaying?

Yeah, or just live with it

Or see if I have any disc 2 at the end and if not. Clear disc number
