I am writing to invite you to the Mid-Atlantic Food Coop Alliance Conference about Starting a Food Coop. In the past year, all of you have written to the Park Slope Food Coop asking for assistance to help to start a food coop or to learn about our coop because you are interested in organizing one for your community.

The Park Slope Food Coop is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Food Coop Alliance and has been on the steering committee of this conference. We believe that the conference will provide participants a good opportunity to learn about how to organize, the different models of food coops, managing your membership, sources for funding, how to keep your membership motivated. There will also be some workshops devoted to case-studies of newly formed food coops and the successes or failures they have encountered.
