Anotherexciting product from RR Racing! After almost a year of development and six months and over 8000 miles of punishing road and track tuning and testing, we are finally releasing our 3XX Supercharger kit for Lexus IS350/300 AWD. Our goal for our kit was to match the power to weight ratio of the top-of-the range Lexus RC-F, while creating reliable, smooth and seamless levels of power that elevate the IS300/350 into a completely different league of performance. This supercharger kit for the IS350/300 AWD exceeded this goal!

I have been looking more and more into the options of developing more power for my ISF, and have dreamed of supercharging a car since i was a little fella.. The noise, the torque, the instant torque i should say, the whole package is the dream. I dont like the "bling" of the RR Racing package for the ISF, it's too obvious, too intrusive, and a lot of fuss for something running such low boost. In my opinion anyway.
So, i don't know whether or not any here are familiar with a company called "Bullet" who specialise in superchargers, and who actually have a further specialty in Toyota / Lexus products. This is them:
Bu i digress, i got in contact, and though they warned it would be the first one they have done, with the expected delays and costs in producing something like this which would essentially be treated as a "one off", its definitely possible. Here are the best parts of their reply:
So its the real deal, looks factory etc etc, huge power increase, uses the factory intake system. Sounds amazing right? Well all except for the cost, $16,000 or more as an estimate.. Because it will be the first, it will be expensive. So, who else wants to get a kit, come together and potentiall reduce costs? I am interstate fo the company also, and couldnt be the guinea pig, but anyone want to be?
It has a water to air intercooler like the ones HSV / Holden etc use, inside the unit. Hence the cost is a bit higher than the entry units. Its got all the bells and whistles, without attracting attention from the fuzz
The supercharger does look good, & yes it would be great fun to have, but I have something else to spend money on. I purchased another vehicle in April this year, I picked up a demo 2016 Toyota FJ Cruiser. and it needs some extra bits, to turn it into an adventure fun machine, for us & our dog to do some travels.
Timing is everything and whilst id never rule it out, its not for me at this point. Id never rule anything out, I thought id only spend a few k on my WRX but spent well over 20k on that so you never know with the ISF.
Funny enough i spoke to these guys today. For one ISF it is 20 grand for an estimated extra 100kws at the wheels. Massive gains in any ones terms but faaarking expensive too. Ahhhh off now to dream anyway of having 380kw at the wheels
* tuning. There will most probably have to be an AM computer involved. Remember how hard it was to crack our ECU and that RRRacing were one of the only ones to do it - this component alone is approx $2500
If there was a saving (even perceived) with using RR Racing, i would go for it. Problem is, after shipping and currency conversion, there probably isnt. And compare the installs, one looks like it belongs in a street car mag (fine for many, maybe Im old?!) and one could have come from factory.
I actually feel you on every point, it isnt simple, and realistically the car already is quick with full bolt ons (almost), so all the extra power is probably a waste of money and unnecessary. But that's probably what RR Racing were told a couple hundred times, someone just has to jump in!! (bags not me) haha!
Basically Im looking to put more juice into my 2003 SC430 and I was wondering if you guys knew of any Superchargers (or Turbocharger) for the SC430, preferibly a Centrifugal system. Also, does anyone know of a website devoted to the SC with parts, accesories, etc...
Ilya, that is custom one off stuff at this point. Supercharger might be the easiest way to go about it. I like turbo's more myself. I don't think a centrifugal unit would be too terribly difficult to put in there. But the engine control system will be a nightmare (for me at least). Although, I have seen stuff on motors that I thougth would be impossible until I saw it. Supercharged latest generation eclipse v6's and maximas and stuff. If you are really interested, you should approach a reputable custom engine shop that is familiar with these motors. Might take a little digging, but I'm sure you can find one if you look hard enough. Good luck on that. One hell uv a great project.
A little more detail on this as I got curious. Anderson Audio and Performance in the Atlanta Georgia area has done this. They have the r&d and skill in the job on one car already. If I had the money and time - That's where I'd do it.
I saw this car at a show a few months ago, but i don't know if this image will help at all. The owner wasn't around very long, all i heard from him was that he had the stock transmission and he had problems with slippage. The supercharger was tucked down underneath where I couldn't see. Sorry i can't be of much help, i know nothing about the latest generation of these cars. Hopefully a picture is worth a thousan words...
That car is a single turbo. GT3580 BB. Skyline fm intercooler. Lots of custom work there too. XS engineering did a lot of the work on that one. I believe it was in the December '03 Sport Compact magazine. He says the auto tranny can't handle over 6 pounds even with a stall converter and valve job. The turbo can flow efficiently to 20! I came across it tonight as well. Low mount with an external oil pump feeding it. 500 or so hp at 6 pounds. Just think if that thing could run 10 and hold it. At 35 grand for low boost on a 430 above and beyond the cost of the car, I could have the 300 clicking 8's and change for money races left over though.
So there's two turbo SC430's in the US we know of. I'll wait till one of these guys gets tired with it and decides to sell. I still think the white one is better though. The black one does look super clean though and does have a bigger dyno. I think single turbo is probably the best route to take. You have to pull the oem computer anyways. Motec 800... Oh man. Now that's enthusiasm. I think I'll go buy a lottery ticket tomorrow.
At The Truck Shop, we pride ourselves in having the largest inventory of superchargers available anywhere so we can get you in and out with a same-day installation all with the factory Magnuson Warranty.
URD has released a fantastic supercharger kit for the 2005-2009 Lexus GX470. This kit provides a nice gain in power and torque while almost completely silent while doing so. This kit matches the luxury of the Lexus very nicely. Our testing shows a gain of 100 RWHP and 100 RWTQ with a low boost pressure of only 5.5 PSI.
With our kit, you can expect a minimum 20% increase in power at the wheels at 6-7 psi on a healthy, stock-standard engine. This figure would rise significantly with supporting modifications such as headers, exhaust, filter upgrades, and, naturally, a tune, as fuel supply issues will start to arise.
Supercharger Considerations:
Before choosing what supercharger to include with your package you need to be clear of what your end goal is going to be. When used on the 5.0L 2UR-GSE at sea level (altitude) with the smallest 65mm SC pulley we offer and factory crank pulley the FDFI1900 will provide a maximum boost pressure of 9psi, the FDFI2300 will do a maximum of 14psi and the FDFI2650 19psi. All kits are supplied with a 6-7psi pulley unless another boost target is requested.
** Disclaimer: Adding forced induction to any engine produces additional power which in turn produces additional stress on the engine itself, by purchasing and installing this kit you are willingly accepting these risks and acknowledge that you have carried out a compression test to ensure your engine is healthy and capable of handling the additional power along with installing the basic supporting mods such as headers and an exhaust system. Under no circumstances will ELATE be responsible for engine damage caused by the addition of one of our supercharger packages**
For applications where the kit will be fitted to a vehicle with additional bolt-on like headers, exhaust, etc a tune will be required. We recommend reaching out to our tuning partner Reflash RD Performance for more information.
