@Tomtom53 I contacted the Sonos support and got the information that they have a ongoing problem with Sonos playing wrong radio stations on tunein. So it looks like it is only to wait for them to solve the problem. Just hope they found a solution fast. ?

This is quite annoying. I use one of my Google Minis as an alarm clock and at the end of my morning routine it should start playing radio so I don't fall asleep again which is not helpful when the radio stops playing randomly.

This is not the experience we want you to have; let me help you. A few questions: were there any recent changes made? Have you tried other radio stations? How about if you give a voice command to play radio stations from TuneIn? Does it stop the way it stops when added to your routine?

thank you for your reply and sorry for my delay! Unfortunately the problem still persists, but I'm still trying to find the root cause. Maybe my ISP changed something without me noticing it. I already tried a factory reset on one of my speakers (Nest Mini) and set it up from the start - still the same issue. Radio suddenly stops playing - doesn't matter which station or if I start the radio directly with a command or via a routine.

I put my phone (Huawei P10) into Airplane mode and activated Wifi only - just to see if the TuneIn app on my phone will have disconnects as well - plays without issues. I played simultaneous radio on my phone (on wifi only) and my Google Home Max - Home speaker stops playing after a while, phone keeps playing the radio without any issues. Funny thing, when I play radio on one of my speakers I get the usual notification on my phone that a speaker on my network is playing music - even when it breaks up (and stays that way) it still shows on my phone like it's playing something.

I am not sure when but I noticed about 1-2 weeks ago that it was working again. I almost gave up on checking and switched mostly to Spotify music playback during the day. But I still had my usual radio station playback in my morning routine and was wondering one morning that the radio didn't stop. As there was no update here and I didn't change anything else on my side I guessed that it was a problem with my ISP or something else locally. I wanted to give an update here but I didn't had a chance to listen to the radio for a longer period to be 100% shure. But so far it seems that the problem has been solved - I had the radio running a couple of times (10-30min) the past few days and it's running right now for more than 1 hour! So I guess you can go ahead and close this thread.

Adding *.musicradio.com to HTTP Proxy Exceptions, this is what showed up the site when playing Tunein thru Sonos. Once I added the exception I was able to re-Enable Gateway AV. Tunein radio thru Sonos now worked.

I found this topic after looking on the internet, I have same issue that the Tunein radio sometime doesn't work. If I understand correctly is that some channel does works and another one not en the only solution is to use whitelist in http proxy?

Using Tunein Radio app, while using it, the broadcast starts repeating the same sentence over and over again. It doesn't matter what radio station I'm listening to it starts skipping. Can it be caused by the wireless internet connection I'm using?

Once you are listening to a program it should bring up another window showing you the radio station, show info, etc. In the upper right hand corner there will be 4 icons, a heart with a plus symbol, an envelope, a target looking icon with a triangle in it, and a triangle with an exclamation point in it. You want the third one, the target with the triangle in it.

Oh, I'm using the free app, I see that the pro version has what you are talking about. Ok, but even when I don't use this app the radio stations are still skipping or repeating, this is why I think it maybe my wifi connection, what do you think?

TuneIn is operated by the company TuneIn Inc. which is based in San Francisco, California. The company was founded by Bill Moore in 2002 as RadioTime in Dallas, Texas. Users can listen to radio on the TuneIn website, using a mobile app, smart speaker, or another supported device. As of 2016[update], TuneIn was also available on more than 55 vehicle models.[20] In 2013, the company raised more than $47 million in venture funding from Institutional Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, GV, General Catalyst Partners, and Icon Ventures.[21]

In March 2018, TuneIn launched another premium live audio subscription called "TuneIn Live," which offers play-by-play calls from thousands of live sporting events, plus access to premium news stations, talks shows and other content. The company launched the subscription-based radio service exclusively for Alexa-enabled speakers and subscribers can prompt Alexa to stream news programs as well as play-by-play broadcasts of MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL games.[27][28] TuneIn Live marked the first time TuneIn premium content was available over a voice platform.[29] In October 2018, the company launched a commercial-free news offering through TuneIn Premium, which included new programs from such as CNBC, Fox News Talk, and MSNBC, as well as news podcasts from Progressive Voices, The Economist, and The Wall Street Journal.

From 2019, the TuneIn website and apps allow users to listen to more than 100,000 radio stations from around the world including AM, FM, HD, LP, digital and internet stations, along with podcasts.[30] TuneIn's directory lists various sports, news, talk, and music broadcasts from around the world. TuneIn's website is available in 22 languages, each with its own content tailored for the specific language or region. TuneIn also offers 5.7 million on-demand programs.[31]

On July 26, 2021, iHeartMedia owned-radio stations were added into TuneIn after the two sides agreed on a deal. The deal would also allow TuneIn to gain advertising from IHeartMedia's local sales.[39][40][unreliable source?]

On December 22, 2015, the National Hockey League (NHL) announced that TuneIn would gain radio rights to the NHL. TuneIn would create an individual station for every NHL team to simulcast their home market broadcasts on. Additionally, TuneIn would create a replay channel for each team so fans could listen to the games archived. They would also create a 24/7 NHL Channel, and the NHL would embed TuneIn's player onto the NHL.com website. All TuneIn NHL items would be made available to the public for free. The first broadcasts for TuneIn began January 1, 2016.[49][unreliable source?] On September 22, 2022, the Anaheim Ducks announced that TuneIn would become the home for all of their game broadcasts, and launched a 24/7 station called Ducks Stream to broadcast team-related content.[50]

On February 15, 2019, the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball announced that TuneIn would be launching a 24/7 exclusive A's station which would include free streaming of all the team's games within the team's market as well as exclusive team programming.[51] In 2020, it was planned for TuneIn to become the exclusive home of the A's in the Bay Area after the team abandoned radio in the market however the team later stuck a deal with iHeartMedia to have KNEW serve as the team's flagship station and A's Cast moved to the iHeartRadio app.[52][53]

In 2017, TuneIn was sued by Sony Music UK and Warner Music UK, alleging copyright infringement by offering access to international radio stations not licensed for distribution in the United Kingdom. The companies also took issue with a feature in its premium tier (which was later disabled in the country) that allowed users to record broadcasts. In November 2019, the English High Court ruled that despite its arguments that it was merely an aggregator similar to a search engine, the TuneIn service infringed the labels' rights by making streams not licensed in the country available to its users (an infringement of the exclusive right to communicate a work to the public, under EU copyright law). The court granted a request for an appeal.[64][65][unreliable source?][66]

Tailgate Radio is among the 100,000 radio stations and podcasts available on TuneIn, which has more than 75 million monthly active users. It is available on most connected devices and has Android and iOS apps.

Caps Radio 24/7, launched in April 2015, is the official audio channel of the Washington Capitals, featuring round-the-clock news updates, player interviews, and music selected by players, coaches, fans, and the team's game entertainment staff. Caps Radio 24/7 is the online home of the Capitals Radio Network, airing all Capitals games as well as select Hershey Bears and South Carolina Stingrays broadcasts. The station can be accessed, free of charge, via the Caps Mobile App radio button as well as through TuneIn radio app and anywhere online at www.capsradio247.com.

In addition to calling the play-by-play on the Capitals Radio Network, Walton also calls hockey on both the national and international stage for NBC Sports, having previously called college, NHL, Stanley Cup Playoff and Olympic hockey for the network dating back to 2012. He was also on the call for the Capitals on radio as the team won its first Stanley Cup title in franchise history in 2018.

Occasionally TuneIn Radio stations become unavailable through the normal 'Favourites' method above. In these cases, custom URLs for radio streams can be added manually. URLs can be found online (e.g. This list of BBC stream URLs)

TuneIn Radio Pro ($9.99), one of PCMag's favorite iPad Apps, continues to evolve. Most recently, the live radio streaming service has added an optional $7.99 per month subscription service, TuneIn Radio Premium, that boasts ad-free music, live sports, and other audio content. Amid all the changes, however, TuneIn Radio Pro also maintains its core functionality. TuneIn Radio Pro still lets you fire up more than 100,000 global AM and FM stations, rewind live radio, and record programming to your iPad's storage. Unfortunately, there are also still some interface and content accessibility issues.
