I would like to extend thanks to everyone for sending in their information about H. sparsus, H. georgica, H. floridanus. Additional information would be welcomed.
Here is a quick summary of the plants used by gender for each state submitting information. Most of the females were recorded on a spring Apiaceae genus, the primary exception being the 4 specimens from Texas (thanks for ruining the party Jack!) none of which were. Males were more catholic and used a wider range of plants with a focus on Apiaceae. H. floridanus and H. georgica did not seem to have a pattern, but a place to look for these species would appear to be Salix. The later 2 species clearly need more life history work...as does H. sparsus, but it, at least, has gotten a bit of attention.
So, my leaning, despite the TX results, would be to define H. sparsus as an Apiaceae species. The pattern appears to be quite consistent. I did find a reference (I think an unpublished manuscript) from Snelling indicating that he thought the TX specimens looked different in the maculation department...for what that is worth.

It Is I
I am that living and fiery essence of the divine substance
that glows in the beauty of the fields.
I shine in the water,
I burn in the sun and the moon and the stars.
Mine is the mysterious force of the invisible wind.
I sustain the breath of all living.
I breathe in the verdure and in the flowers,
and when the waters flow like living things,
It is I…I am Wisdom…I am Life.
