Hi everyone,
We are excited to announce the publication of a special issue in the Journal of Melittology titled “Advancing Wild Bee Research and Conservation Through Standardized Methods.” This special issue, an output of the US National Native Bee Monitoring Research Coordination Network, was co-edited by Hollis Woodard and Hannah Levenson and features the following articles (note that some of the articles are still in “early view” while we finalize the formatting with the journal):

Hollis, Hannah, and I are co-hosting a symposium at EntSoc to highlight the special issue on Sunday, November 9th from 9 am - noon that is creatively titled Advancing Wild Bee Research and Conservation Through Standardized Methods. The symposium will feature talks by most of our article leads, along with talks by Victor Gonzalez about putting together the issue and Matt Forister about searching for lost insects. To learn more about the occupancy protocol, we encourage you to attend the symposium “Applications of Species Occupancy Models to Insect Population Research and Monitoring” that is co-organized by Hollis and Clint Otto on Tuesday 11/11 at 2 PM.
We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Brianne Du Clos, Hollis Woodard, and Hannah Levenson
