Greetings!

We are happy to announce the return of our week-long course on wild bee identification at Eagle Hill Institute in Steuben, Maine. The course will run from Sunday June 21st to Saturday June 27th, 2026.

We structure this course around field identification of wild bees, with a focus on bumble bees. Throughout the week, we will learn skills including, but not limited to: field identification to genus, voucher specimen collection, nest searching, photography, and methods for non-lethal study of bees. Lab work will reinforce identification through microscopy.

This seminar will be of interest to academic students, naturalists, landscape designers, and managers of public and private lands, among others. We especially encourage students to attend this course, and there are tuition and lodging discounts available for student attendees. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Registration is now open at this link. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the course is filled.

Thanks!
