Hi, this is my first post, but I am in touch with luk.
Now I am using the lastest beegis version downloaded from
http://code.google.com/p/beegis/downloads/list on panasonic tablet
with windows XP.
After a first work session without any problem, the creation of a new
database failed. It seemed to have created it (several databases,
after some attempts), but I've not seen any new directory in database
directory.
The real problem involved the annotation layer; I was in able to write
new elements, but not to see it.
I've saved the work session exporting the annotation layer to shp and
there were together also the features of the old database.
The only way to create a real new database is to change manually the
database directory. This problem seems not affecting the Osgeo
version, but I couldn't use it for the ecw support and some problem
with rasters without prj file.
We are massively using beegis for surveying after recent floods.

Did/does it issue any error? Is there any way I could be able to
reproduce the problem?
Does the folder you are using to put the db in contain particular characters?
Does anything come to your mind that could help us understand where
the problem lies?

So you are telling me that the annotations are recorded but not displayed?
The fact that the old notes are there means that it is still being
connected to the old database.

I was told yesterday that the Osgeo4W version doesn't load ecw, which
is really odd.

Thanks guys, keep it up!
The first this I will do now is to try to solve the Osgeo4W problem
with ECW, which I should be able to reproduce if you also have the
problem. I hope that will at least get you working properly. Then we
will have to work out the current db problem.

Hope that works for you.

Ciao,
Andrea

I'll try to reproduce the problem, but remember that we are hadly
involved with the post-flooding activities.

No

I've only seen that no new directory has been created after the "new
embedded databases" operation. The button "create and activate
database" didn't appear.
It appears only if I manually create a new directory and I manually
select it.

yes

Or that the two databases use the same filesystem or directory.

I have problem also with raster files without namefile.prj
I'll try to solve it creating all prj files,

thank you.
We'd like also some information about how to set up proxy server to
see wms server. I'll try to do it but it don't works. I don't think it
is a bug, it is only unclear how to make it works.
