I need a book that will help me to master all the concepts in math up until at least toronto's grade 11 math level by June. It's not a long way away, and I'm a slow learner. So what can I do to speed things up? Most concepts won't be new to me so that will help it along.

Before you take on the difficult task of undertaking a lengthy study of mathematics, you'll need to ask yourself why you are doing it. For instance, if you are interested in a career in the sciences, then the mathematics you will need to learn will be far more advanced than if you went into (for example) business management.

If indeed you are interested in studying mathematics beyond a year-11 level, then you'll need to direct your studies as necessary. Beginning with basic algebra and arithmetic (for example, learning what functions are, solving quadratic equations, doing basic statistics), you will need to move on to calculus, which is often introduced at the year-11 level.

More precisely, you will need to begin studying algebra and trigonometry in good detail. I will recommend the textbooks written by James Stewart, as I find them extremely comprehensive, and also quite challenging, which I believe is a great trait in a textbook for a student who is willing to learn mathematics.Stewart's Algebra & Trigonometry is great for an introduction to trigonometry and algebra, and for a more advanced approach, try Stewart's Pre-Calculus, which contains everything you need to learn before you begin a study in calculus.

The reason I started liking math is because I started to try and understand every single concept I worked with, rather than remember the process of solving a problem. Because I understood the problem, just like I understand that I will fall back down when I jump, I was able to work with problems without a formula.

Math works in a way where you have to break it down to its fundamental level to be truly good at it. I know a lot of people in my class who are only "good" at math because they can memorise well, and the only reason they like it is because of the marks and grades which is stupid.

Since your concentration is low, you will want to do textbook questions that are relevant to what is being taught, so I'd recommend asking your teacher for a syllabus a.k.a what is for homework for all the math units that they teach in class, and doing those questions.

enVision Math 2020 Common Core has been adopted as the K-5 math instructional material starting in the 2022-23 school year. Students can access SavvasRealize, the digital content for enVision, through the Seattle Public Schools student portal (Clever).

The math content area of Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction has launched an Algebra 1-Geometry-Algebra 2 Digital Instructional Materials Adoption for the 2023-24 school year. If approved by the Seattle School Board, the new digital instructional materials will be ready for implementation by the 2024-25 school year.

Math is a very interesting subject . Student can make their marks average very high from this subject . Online tutoring can be additional benefit for increase in their marks and improve their overall average .

Which Algebra 2 textbook do you recommend ? My son is 6th grader, finishing the Saxon Algebra 1, and he gets bored with the repetition and also complaints that there are just a few problems relating to the topics .

I have the textbook and teacher edition of this copyright 2000. Do you know the ISBN of the solutions key? Or if there is a supplemental piece that has the worked out solutions to problems. My Algebra is a little rusty and I find it would be helpful to see the worked-through solutions for the problem sets (as opposed to just the answer).

What are your suggestions/recommendations for preparing kids for Algebra 2 this summer in order to get them ready for this up coming fall/spring semester? Also, we will need to review and fill-in some missing Algebra 1 skills.

Thank you for this post. I home school my daughter and decided to get this book. I compared it to several other Algebra 1 books and it was the winner! Definitely takes a lot of baby steps, which my 6th grader will totally benefit from.

This study aimed at identifying the form of the language, which is expressive of the mathematics and mathematics learner in the 8th grade mathematics textbook. The results showed that the mathematics textbook tends to exhibit an absolute, symbolic, mathematics specific image and a negative image of the mathematics learner as just who executes the orders (scribbler), rather than a thinker or engaged in authentic problem solving. Possibly, these two images may explain the difficulties and problems the students encounter while learning mathematics.
