Please join the Bedford Trails Committee for a free winter walk through the Hartwell Town Forest.
The walk will be slow-paced, about 2 hours duration. We will traverse the Forest from Hartwell Road over to South Road and back, through the mostly-frozen wetlands, with additional explorations as time allows.
When and Meet at 9:45 AM in the
Where: parking lot behind the Bedford Free Public Library.
We will actually start and finish the walk at the small parking area next to the Forest entrance on Hartwell Road, where the now-removed kiosk used to be (although the meet-up location is still behind the Bedford Library).

Notes: Children and dogs are welcome.

We will walk regardless of the weather – rain, snow, or shine.
The walk will follow a snow and ice covered route, with a fair amount of water. Please wear comfortable boots that can handle wet, ice, and snow. Be prepared for water up to your calf. (Either tall boots or waterproof gaiters.)
Ice creepers are required. (There will be a few sets available to borrow.) Snowshoes will likely not be necessary.
