I hope you guys have a great holiday and don't eat too much BBQ! :P
I'm happy to report I've lost the 2 pounds I gained when our friends
were visiting. Finally! But I always say it's better to maintain
than to gain.

Today, we're going to my sister's house for her son's birthday party
and yummy grillin'. Here's hoping the food isn't *that* good and I
don't gorge myself. LOL One of the hardest things I've learned about
eating and losing weight is to leave food on the plate if I'm full. I
have to consciously tell myself to leave things. Otherwise, I'd just
eat mindlessly until it's all gone, regardless of my full belly.

In part, it's because the food is really yummy and I don't *want* to
be done eating yet. :( This is where portion control is your
friend. Take a smaller portion and then eat it all if you want. I've
found that smaller plates DO WORK as far as the psychological aspect
of eating less and feeling satisfied. DH and I frequently eat our
meals out of a bowl, rather than a plate, especially if we're having
say fried rice or pasta or something very carb-y. That way, you can
measure it out, and it still looks like a full bowl and you'll be
satisfied, whereas if you laid it out on a plate, it wouldn't look
like much and you'd still be hungry.

Anyhow, just wanted to pop in and share that I finally lost those 2
pounds and wish you all a Happy Memorial Day!

yah becks....i somehow managed to loose the four pounds i had gained after i first found out i was pregnant again...i have to admit i haven't been trying to terribly hard...subconsciously I think I pay a bit of attention but I also have been thinking if I want it and am craving it I'm going to eat it...I am just trying to do it modestly...we shall see I just thought it was incredibly interesting that I had lost those four pounds...either way that does make me feel good!
