Okay, lame play on the word "experiment", I know, but I'm doing a
couple of things that might help me shed a few pounds, at least for
now.
Recently, I haven't been exercising due to A.) no time B.) laziness
and C.) rain. Mostly B. Last time I took my kids to our local Fred
Meyer's (like a Super Wal-mart) for Easter outfits, I saw these
awesome shoes. I didn't buy them because they were very expensive
(for me). I don't think I've bought a pair of shoes for myself
outside of Payless Shoes in a LONG fricken' time. I just don't pamper
myself.
Well today, I decided to bite the bullet and do it. Figured if I had
nice comfy shoes, I'd be more inclined to walk in them and get more
exercise. Here's a pic of them:

I got the silver/lavender ones. They even have optional purple laces,
which of course I'm putting on. :P They are so comfy!! Even though
they were expensive (for me), they were on sale for $5 off and there
was another $5 off coupon, so I ended up saving $10. Still spent $50,
but that is a lot of money for me to spend on shoes, especially with a
family of seven to support.
So YAY on that front!
Also, since those videos I used to follow are all about walking in
place with different variations on walking in place (kicks, sidesteps,
lifting your knees), I figured whenever I'm doing housework, I'll just
walk in place. Folding laundry? Walk in place. Doing dishes? Maybe
some side steps. Sure, I'll look like a moron, but moving more
throughout the day might help me a bit more if I don't want to or
can't find the time to pop in the DVD and go "for a walk".
Anyhow, that's my "Becksperiment" - motivating myself with some new
beautiful shoes and moving more while doing mundane things around the
house. Let's see if it works!
