It has been 5 years since the incident which turned her life upside down and Barbara has been reliving it every night when she sleeps. She and others were able to find themselves in an enclosed town, protected by a large wall in Pennsylvania, where she leads a salvage operation which brought supplies to the town's inhabitants. Her team consisted of Derek Moran, Linda Martin, Rufus Porter and Alexander Quinn, who would be shipping out with her in a little bit. These were not her only friends, as she became familiar with everyone in town, including befriending a little girl named Sara. As she notices children fighting over a rusted looking play car, causing her to suffer from PTSD and have flashbacks about how she escaped the farmhouse. She was then snapped out of it by her own power, then as she traveled, she came across the statue of the police chief from back in 68, causing her to have another flashback. This one was of when she learned of Ben's death, which she snapped out of thanks to Quinn, telling her they were ready to go salvage. With that, Barbara accompanied her team in their armored bus and ventured outside the wall.
