The problem is that Windows update KB4019472 causes a problem with Intel HD4000 graphics cards( and probably others) which results in sketchup 2017 selection controls running very slow ( approx 7 secs before a response is seen)
How did you get to W10?
Strange question but if upgraded to 10 during the 2015 frame period( when it was free) there are some license agreements you have made with MS, do you remember what they are? That upgrade was good for one year and that limit will soon be here.
There are lots of chatter on the windows 10 forum and it associated with graphics driver problems. Conesus seems to be to get the driver from machines manufacture because they may well have changed the INTEL driver to fit their particular design. As aside, a search of the MS dump crash analysis web site they state they have more issues with .dlls ( vendor graphics drivers than any other.)
Depending on the license you have you are probably well past the time MS allowed you to roll back to the old windows version.)
I was able to install Intel HD Graphics on the same machine before to play games and use video game emulators, but one day I opened the VMware Workstation and could not start the machine, I had to remove and install everything over again but when attempting to install the graphics driver I have installed before to make my video game emulators work fast I failed, and I do not remember exactly how I managed to do it before.
It might be possible to fool the guest OS into showing the host's adapter name in Device Manager, but it will never be able to actually use the host's graphics drivers, because the guest OS simply cannot see the host's hardware at all. I strongly suggest that your recollection of using Intel graphics drivers in the guest is mistaken... Perhaps you were seeing the Intel HD Audio controller or the Intel network controller, both of which we can emulate and will appear in Device Manager.
thanks for the quick response. Do you mean that maybe third party driver will work with my GMA 4500. I expect it will run slow or without much detailed graphics. but this is what i would like to test.
@ket The intel control center is control panel? It seems the same to me.
Also if you can found an opengl workaround would be excellent.
It is well known that the driver in windows10-11 dont install the opengl.
*the packet works also at windows 11 i tested it.
Both gpu and hd audio installed correctly as the opencl.
I said to myself that may be windows get corrupted (though it was new) then I again installed new window ( win 10 64 bit pro) and again downloaded and installed drivers then again same things happened with me as I described above since I assured that there is not issue with my processor and windows, there is something wrong with AMD GPU Drivers So I powered off my laptop and BOOT it into safe mode then I went to device manager and uninstalled AMD divers and device then I restart my laptop on normal mode, Hopefully my laptop didn't stuck at welcome button So I deleted everything from my windows that's was related to AMD then I installed Drivers again but again there is no change (same things happened in a row as i discussed above
If the driver listed is not the right version or operating system, search our driver archive for the correct version. Enter Intel HD Graphics 4000 into the search box above and then submit. In the results, choose the best match for your PC and operating system.
Here is what I'd suggest to do:See if you can temporarily disable your AMD graphics (perhaps from UEFI settings/Bios?) and boot with intel enabled only. It should run out of the box with the latest versions of Ubuntu.
I recently experienced the same issue. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 5548 laptop with hybrid graphics, I mean, it has two GPU (Graphics Processing Units): a VGA compatible controller Intel Corporation HD Graphics 5500 and a display controller AMD/ATI Topaz XT [Radeon R7 M260]. The Intel GPU saves power consumption / increases battery life, but has poor graphics performance. The AMD/ATI GPU has bigger power consumption but much better graphics performance. My computer's operating system is the 64-bit Linux XUbuntu 14.04.4 (kernel 4.2.0-35-generic). You can execute uname -r in order to find out which is your system's kernel version and uname -i in order to find out if your OS (Operating System) is 32-bit or 64-bit.
After the installation of the proprietary AMD/ATI graphics driver and system reboot, the xserver (Xorg server) crashed and didn't initialize anymore. But I insisted on the installation of the proprietary AMD/ATI driver because, if compared with the generic Xorg driver for AMD/ATI GPU devices (module amdgpu), the proprietary driver (fglrx) improves performance, also improves video acceleration support (works neat with xvba-va, which is the XvBA Video Acceleration driver), and it also lowers the temperature of your AMD/ATI GPU.
Updated the geforce driver, but no use, tried to update the intel one but failed, is there a way to disable this? bypass the compatibility renderer and work as I used to, the emulator is awful now. Any explanation why that occurred all of the sudden?
I have a laptop with Intel HD Graphics 4000 and I would like to run Star Wars Battlefront (2015) on it. I understand that these Intel integrated graphics are not designed for gaming, and that my computer is well under the game requirements. When I attempt to launch the game, I get a warning that my Intel driver (10.18.10.4425) is outdated and needs update, although I am already using the latest driver from the Intel website. It says I need the driver version xx.xx.14.4264, but this version does not exist. It also gives me an option to run the game anyway, but that I may experience gameplay issues. When I try to run the game anyway, the game is a black screen, and sometimes crashes. I am not concerned that the game will run at a low FPS, but I just want it to be able to launch and run. I have seen YouTube videos of the game running with the HD 4000, but they do not have working fixes.
Unlocked drivers: We heard how much our users want the freedom to upgrade their systems to our regularly released generic graphics drivers and enable our latest game enhancements, feature updates, and fixes. As of this release, Intel Graphics DCH drivers are now unlocked to upgrade freely between Computer Manufacturer (OEM) drivers and the Intel generic graphics drivers on Download Center. Simply use the EXE and enjoy the update on your 6th Generation Intel Processor platform or higher, and don't worry about your OEM customizations, they remain intact with each upgrade and the OEMs can maintain customizations separately via Microsoft* Windows Update. See the Release Notes section *2 for important information about this update.
Any graphics issues found using Intel generic graphics drivers should be reported directly to Intel. Corporate customers should always use OEM drivers and report all issues through the vendor they purchased the platforms and support through.
