I am sorry, I've searched but I am not sure if I found the correct xfce4-power-manager version, the right-click on the battery icon shows version 1.6.6, but I am definitely not seeing that awesome flipchart icon

My xfce4 DE panel is 4.14.3 and looks like this:

no matter if the Presentation mode is on or off.
The only way I am checking if it's toggled is when I click the battery icon and the drop-down menu shows it.

But can't I just upgrade it? I mean this came with my distribution of xubuntu 18.04 (updated to 20.04), which I initially installed on the previous laptop.
I just took the HDD after it died and I am now using it on this one, so I am not sure if this is the initial version of power manager, or it got updated somewhere along the way.
I am not on version 1.6.6 for any particular reason.

The Power BI Windows app was retired on December 31st, 2023, and is no longer supported. It's been removed from the Microsoft apps store, and no further product updates for it will be released. Please use the Power BI service to view your Power BI content on Windows devices.

You can use presentation mode to display reports and dashboards in full-screen on Windows devices. Presentation mode is useful for displaying Power BI at meetings or conferences, or on a dedicated projector at the office, or even just for maximizing space on a small screen.

In the Power BI Windows app, tap the Switch to presentation mode icon. The app chrome disappears and the action toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen or on the right and left sides (depending on your screen size).

You can undock the toolbar and drag and drop it to anywhere on the screen. This is useful for large screens, when you want to focus on a specific area in your report and want to have the tools available next to it. Just place your finger on the toolbar and swipe it into the report canvas.

You can play a slideshow to automatically cycle through your presentation. You can set the slideshow to cycle through pages, bookmarks, or both pages and bookmarks. During the slideshow, report pages with auto page refresh will continue to automatically refresh as configured, ensuring that the most current data is always shown.

When you select the Play button on the action toolbar, the slideshow begins. A controller appears that allows you to pause the slideshow or to change what's being played: pages, bookmarks, or both pages and bookmarks.

The controller shows the name of the currently displayed view (page or bookmark and page). In the image above, we see that in the report called Sales, we are currently viewing the Asia Pacific bookmark on the Sales Performance page.

You can set up the Power BI Windows app to start playing a slideshow automatically whenever the app is launched. This option is useful for creating a kiosk-like experience that runs a report in public displays without any manual intervention. See Slideshow settings for detail about setting up a report for autoplay.

By default, a slideshow cycles through pages only, at a rate of one every 30 seconds. You can change this default behavior by going to Settings > Options, as illustrated below. You can also turn on autoplay and choose a report to play.

If you want your report to start playing automatically when the app is launched, turn on the toggle and choose Select Report. You will be able to search for reports you have access to.

I want to enable the presentation mode forever on my Windows 10 device. When I turn it on, it again turns off after reboot or sign out. I have also tried to set the values through registry, but seems not to be working.

Your main goal from what your question shows, is to prevent your system from switching off the screen or hibernating or anything like that. In which case, if you have tried disabling all the energy saving features that you know of, and the PC is still hibernating, then I suggest you use Caffeine. It costs nothing and it's adware free.

Seems that the .pbix file needs to be uploaded to Service before i can open it in presentation mode in the Power BI app. There is no option to open in presentation mode without uploading the file. Sometimes, i create files for others and want them to see it without outlines around the boxes, filters etc. when they hover the mouse over. Seems that there is no option for this, unless they buy a Power BI Pro license and upload file to Power BI Service?

The presentation mode is only available on the service however you can simulate the presentation mode on the bookmark pane on the top you have ADD and View if click the view you will get the presentation view howevwer since you are on desktop you will not get the full screen better you can do is minimize all panes.

Using Presentation mode in the Power BI app running on Surface Hub in your conference room and collaboration areas, better allows you to have meetings which focus on your data. Presenting, collaborating and having productive discussions with your colleagues and team members while using your data in your Power BI dashboards and reports has never been easier.

The action bar has tools for helping you navigate within the report (pages) and inside the app (breadcrumbs). The tools also help you find other content within the reports (search), and help you enhance your presentations and team discussions (inking).

From what I've read online here, Presenation Mode is available on Desktop with Windows. While it seems to focus on using with Surface Hub, it notes that it is not a requirement. Yet, I can't figure out how to enable this view nor find additional documentation online.

And the presentation mode is available in the second one. I think this second one is basically a Windows 10 port of the mobile app. It appears to be an app designed for people that just want to view reports, not author them. With this app I think you can either view reports from an on premise PBI Report Server or reports that are stored on PowerBI.com.

My issue is when I share a PPT with the group. My process for sharing: I open PowerPoint, begin a screen share, and share the presentation I want (from the app, not from the desktop). When it is shared, the presentation takes over BOTH of my screens, leaving me dead in the water.

This is not a Zoom issue, it is a PowerPoint issue,
in PowerPoint menu choose slideshow and then set up the slide show.
Choose the show type, and which individual window sounds appropriate and you can choose the slide show monitor and disable the presenter view.
When you have what you want, you can use the Zoom screen share to share the part you want to show.
Even if you overlap the PowerPoint window it should be seen okay by the attendees.

What needs to be done to use MAC Powerpoint in presentation mode on dual monitors without losing the participants' screen? For example, when I teach and ask participants to mute and comment, they are hidden behind the screen. Advise welcome

I wish there were a simple toggle in the quick settings where the user could enable a sort of streamer/presentation mode to make it safe for them to use their desktop normally without screen recording software being able to see anything useful.

Streamer mode typically refers to a special application state, for instance in a game or chat application, where the program hides personal identifiable information so that it can be safely recorded without risk of onlookers seeing it.

The specific implementation I had in mind for GNOME is more complex and robust. Since on Wayland we have more control over application permissions and such, would it be possible to display to the user all their personal information, such as notifications, weather/location information in the notification tray, files in Nautilus, Wi-Fi network names, and so on, but to any recording software, only display a skeleton app by giving it a separate, modified video buffer?

If that were possible, I think it could add a lot of value to the desktop, and enhance privacy & security by obfuscating personal information. This could also extend beyond streaming, and could, for example, be applied to an external monitor so that a presenter could do present things in a public meeting without the audience being able to see any confidential information if they accidentally slipped up. Because the interface remains fully in tact, even if the user enabled this on their primary monitor, the worst that could happen is they need to click the toggle off in quick settings.

IMO this should not be a manual setting but something that is toggled when the screen sharing portal is used. It seems this would be used along with do-not-disturb; a simple way to start right now might be to mock up an addition to the dialog that can enable do-not-disturb mode.

For this to work the size of the censored text would need to match the one of the original, but even knowing the rough length of a text can be information that can be used to significantly narrow the search space for a potential attacker (i.e. city or street names).
