There are a few typos which should be corrected. Is there a way to make it look a little more business-like and less club?

i've made a few changes to the Typos and some wording of it.

Don't want it to be too business like we are a club/group for fun.
Trying to get peoples attention.

You could always place the logo you designed on there in the middle.

Let's go green and skip the paper posting. Social network and word of mouth should be more effective.

How many people are in the club right now so I can figure some math and send the email out?

I've contacted a graphic designer about making a club logo, and passed along local information and everything that was discussed at the meeting pertaining to a logo design.

He would create 3 draft logos and we would pick our winner--which would then be refined and sent to us in various formats to use for shirts, jerseys, print, Internet, etc.

Cost-wise, looking at who's currently on the Google group distro--it would cost about $50 per person.

Would you all be willing to contribute that amount of money?

Does the cost just cover the design or is there any type of media that
is also provided?

If we're just looking into getting a professionally-designed graphic,
I know a few graphic designers that I could see if one of them would
be willing to help out and design pro bono...

I agree with Sandy... starting a group on Facebook is a good jumping
off platform and we can put a link up to the group on various race/
race organizer pages so if they're looking at that page they will see
the link to the group.

Pro bono--no kidding! Candace, I'll forward you what I sent this guy and put him on hold.

But to answer your question, here's what the other guy does "I design 2-3 options for you, posted online for easy review. This process takes, on average, 5-7 business days from project initiation. Once a design is selected, I'll then perform necessary refinements and provide you with the logo in various industry standard formats allowing you the freedom to have it reproduced anywhere - print / web / textiles / etc."
