Let BE know that I am in communication with DOT regarding the
deplorable state of the bike lanes to/from Bft to HI. Great that we
have them, awful that they are full of debris, glass, and now the
"rumble strip". First rep of DOT I spoke to said "well, we do clean
them with a brush machine". I asked how often and they responded "3
to 4 times a year"!!!!!!!!! They have limited funds and manpower
available to clean them more. I replied that they have created what
an atty would call "an attractive nuisance" (Cory would be so proud of
me!) and regretfully I am notifying them of the issue in case anything
happens because arider is being forced to ride in the road instead of
the bike lane. I actually believe that I have their attention. They
were very nice but cyclist they are NOT. Will keep you posted.
