Hilton Head Island has the opportunity to bid on hosting an Ironman
event (140.6) beginning in 2014. The bid is due April 30th (2 weeks)
and the proposal is being considered by the Town Council. Time is
short, so we are requesting your support NOW -
What Can You Do? 2 Action Steps ...

Action Step 1
----------
We, as a community, need to lobby our Town Council - and, we need to
make it overly clear to Ironman that we want them here and we are
excited to host the Ironman. So, to make things easy - **YOU can
create one single email that is directed to both (Town Council and
Ironman)** - below are suggestions on what to include. Also, provided
below are the email addresses you can copy/paste and send.
**Email Subject Line -** _IRONMAN HILTON HEAD ISLAND_
**Email Body Include:**
* Name, profession, title
* State your support for Hilton Head Island hosting Ironman - assert
your support for this great business opportunity (12 - 15 million
dollars of revenue to the Island over 5 days), community opportunity,
and charitable opportunity (Ironman give back tens of thousands of
dollars to local non-profits)
* State your willingness to provide your **time** (volunteer),
**services** (eg., medical, massage, transportation, eletricians, ...
everyone counts) and, **trade** (business solutions that help offset
the event costs - ie., food/beverage contracts, event equipment
rentals, ... everything counts).

Be at the Hilton Head Town Council Meeting Tuesday April 23 @ 4pm
(Location = Town Hall). Plan on 20 minutes of your time - We (private
citizens) have a 3 minute opportunity to voice our support. Actually,
only one of us (Nick Felix) will be doing the talking - but, we need
to pack the Council Chambers with warm bodies in support of this
opportunity - so when the Council members look out into the audience
they see all of us - all different occupations and ages - together and
unified as a community wanting to drive our Town in this positive
direction.
