Crush Cycle is a monster truck made by Spin Master for the 2023 Monster Jam Series. It is comprised of a modified Earth Shaker body and garbage truck-style casting. It is part of the Trucks on Duty subseries for series 31.

It's the first full moon of the Lunar Leap Year, a romantic time for werewolves. Many of them hook up or pay special attention to their significant others. In this atmosphere of romance, Howleen Wolf considers her own chances. Clawdeen tries to talk her out of it on account of Howleen's age, which doesn't so much convince as agitates her. In her anger, she fails to get her locker open. Romulus notices as he passes by and helps open it, igniting Howleen's lingering feelings for him. Clawdeen disapproves.

Later, at the Full Moon Sports Day, Howleen hangs out with Lothar and talks with him about her love troubles. Lothar, who secretly has feelings for Howleen, listens patiently and tries to give her romance advice. His first piece of advice is to get Romulus to notice her by doing the things he likes. Howleen concurs that that is a good plan and goes looking for a stick to play fetch with Romulus. She finds a good one at a bonfire Heath just lit and throws the stick at Romulus, despite Heath's objections. As it turns out, the stick works like a boomerang and guides Romulus right into the bonfire. Howleen quickly fetches a bucket of water to throw over him.

Not ready to give up yet, Howleen considers trying to howl along with the other werewolves. Encouraged by Lothar, she tries to howl when Romulus is nearby but only produces a few yaps. Romulus fails to notice her as he walks by, making his way to another werewolf who can howl properly. Howleen concedes defeat, but Lothar assures her that it is Romulus who is the loser here. This helps Howleen deal with the rejection a little better, and so she thanks her friend. But as she turns away, Lothar leaves out a sigh at his own problem that Howleen herself doesn't notice his crush on her. At the same time, Lothar is oblivious to the slug girl behind a tree who is looking longingly at him and is equally heartbroken that he doesn't notice her.

The folks at ECX and Horizon Hobby have been releasing out all sorts of r/c vehicles geared towards beginners or budget-minded hobbyists over the last couple of years, and the 1/10 Amp Crush is their latest entry in the always popular ready-to-run (RTR) 2wd monster truck segment of the hobby. How did it fare after extensive testing? Read-on to find out.

Power: If you are running the included NIMH battery, the brushed motor power is very soft. It was still more than enough for our newbie testers to have fun bombing around in though, as the truck was much easier for them to control versus when we put in a Lipo. Ah yes, a Lipo battery. Using one wakes it up considerably, especially on the bottom end. All-in-all, a good beginner system. Note that the Crush does not have a low voltage cutoff making LiPo usage a little risky. Consider picking up a Voltage Monitor if you are going to run LiPo like the Venom (VRN0644)

Broken Parts: We wound up smoothing out a spur gear after repeatedly slamming it in reverse and then flooring it to pop wheelies (this is fun!) but that was it during the normal part of testing. Then we started driving it off playground equipment and other wacky stuff and it still held up. We finally blew an a-arm after clipping a tree at top speed. The truck is quite durable.

This truck really looks fantastic. While it may not be a solid axle monster, it sure looks the part, what-with the cool body and scale appearing wheels/tires. It looks very much inspired by the real-life Whiplash monster truck!

We did the majority of testing with the included battery, but threw in a few 2S lipo packs for good measure. That really upped the fun factor considerably. The truck would even wheelie on high bite surfaces!

Workability: B ECX has really stepped up their game with better hardware on this model versus a couple years ago. That, combined with a simple rear-end transmission and chassis layout makes for a vehicle easy to work on.

Parts Availability: B Almost any hobby shop worth their salt carries Horizon Hobby parts, and the ECX monster truck line has been around for awhile now, making replacement parts for this easy to get.

Grab your earplugs as Grave Digger, Megalodon, El Toro Loco, Kraken, Bad Company, Jester and the rest of the Monster Jam trucks (and drivers) roar at Monster Jam's Stadium Championship East event on May 4, 2024.

There are several tiers of timed admission to keep in mind for Saturday, May 4, 2024. The Pit Party starts at 9:30 a.m., doors to The Linc opens at 11 a.m., trackside access begins at 11:15 a.m. and the action begins at 1 p.m., according to Monster Jam.

"The Stadium Championship Series East features 12 skilled athletes battling for the championship while tearing up the dirt in intense competitions of speed and skill," Monster Jam said in a news release.

The 5-ton (or more) machines can produce quite a lot of noise. Average noise levels of 95 to 100 A-weighted decibels (dBA) are expereinced at monster truck rallies, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Noisy Planet project. "Exposure to sounds that are 85 dBA or louder can damage your hearing and put you at risk for noise-induced hearing loss."

You can bring your own ear protection, or purchase there: "Our concessions staff sells Monster Jam-branded novelty ear protection and disposable ear plugs while supplies last at each event. You may bring your own from home," Monster Jam says in its FAQs.

Monster Jam is produced by Feld Entertainment, the same live touring production company behind other family-friendly events like Disney on Ice, Marvel Universe LIVE!, Sesame Street Live! and Jurassic World Live Tour,

First off, to beat the monster, you need to understand how it works. This monster thrives on stopping your progress, but you can outsmart it. Focus on making special candies. Matching four or more candies creates special candies that can help clear large areas or specific obstacles, including the monster.

Feeling proud of beating the monster and advancing in Candy Crush? Why stop there when you can turn your gaming skills into real rewards? Download the Playbite app, where playing fun games earns you points towards winning actual prizes. You can snag App Store or Play Store gift cards to get more lives, gold bars, or other goodies for Candy Crush. Imagine not having to wait for lives to regenerate or beat tricky levels without breaking a sweat!

While it may be hard to get past the deafening radio ads, a funny thing can happen on the way to a Monster Jam show. It turns out that young fans' giddiness over the awesome destruction they're about to witness can be pretty contagious.

Monster Jam events draw more than 4 million people to arenas like the Verizon Center in downtown Washington, D.C. What started in the late '70s as intermission entertainment for tractor-pulling competitions is now a multimillion-dollar industry that tours the world. This year's marquee star is Grave Digger, a team of drivers and trucks that's celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The basketball court at the center of the arena has been replaced by a stockpile of red dirt. As part of the last-minute preparations, workers spread the dirt around the floor and paint junkyard cars in the middle of the pit.

A mud bog hobbyist named Dennis Anderson built the original Grave Digger in 1981 out of a '50s era Chevy and the wheels of a tractor. The truck became a huge hit because of its horsepower and ability for maximum destruction.

The fiberglass-covered machine Schmidt shows me is far more complex. He shouts out some numbers: It weighs about 10,000 pounds; it's approximately 11.5 feet tall; each tire weighs about 600 pounds; it has a 1,500 horsepower engine; it gets about 10 gallons to the mile.

"We crush the cars, yes. But do we crush them like we used to in the old days? No," he says. "We bang them up a little bit; we smash in the roof and smash in the sides, but not nearly as bad as we used to."
