I'm very interested in how to use this aplication. For that i'm making
some tests to see the results. But, i have some problems, because
there is not a very clear manual of BEAST and TRACER. So, i'd like to
know some things:
first: the command to make a beyesian skyline is...

<generalizedSkyLineLikelihood id="skyline">
<populationSizes>
<parameter id="skyline.popSize" dimension="10" value="100.0"
lower="0.0" upper="1e7"/>
</populationSizes>
<groupSizes>
<parameter id="skyline.groupSize" dimension="10" value="1.0"
lower="1.0"/>
</groupSizes>
<populationTree>
<treeModel idref="treeModel"/>
</populationTree>
</generalizedSkyLineLikelihood>

is this? or there is needed something else?

Other thing, to read the results of the skyline oin tracer the options
to check are:

analisys - create temporal analisys - add demographic reconstruction?
which are the parameters of maximum and minimum time? this are the
time which i like to see efect of the populations?

the demographic model, population size, mamimum time, trace of the
root height and age of the youngest tip, how much change the results
the variations of this..?

I hope you can helpme (teach me)

Thanks

Yes,
I am also trying to do skyline plots. I get everything to work, i.e. I
run the program and create the plots. Only, I don't know how to
interpret the plots.
What are the units of the axis in the plots?
And how do I know if there is significant population expansion, and
when it was?

Thanks,
Magdalena
