How to estimate tMRCA

Dear all,

I’ve run a BEAST analysis including five different datasets representing distinct clades of viruses sampled in a different countries, some of which were collected in different time periods. My challenge now is how I can estimate tMRCA with the beast mcmc.

Dear Nicodemus?,

BEAST does estimate tMRCA for each clade

First make sure you have sufficient temporal signal tested using TempEST....to avoid uncertainty in time-calibration

Second you could treat the clades as separate taxa during beauti set up 

Run  BEAST simultaneously for your taxa

All values will be estimated after the run ....you can see values using Tracer
