Hi,

I tried to use BEAST with BEAGLE on Linux (Ubuntu 11 64-bit); however,
after following the instructions for installing BEAGLE on Linux
(http://code.google.com/p/beagle-lib/wiki/LinuxInstallInstructions) I
still failed to make it work, getting the error message: "Failed to load
BEAGLE library: no hmsbeagle-jni in java.library.path". BEAST without
BEAGLE works fine on the same file, and I have BEAGLE running on Windows
7.

Cheers,
Gerald

Make sure the location of the libhmsbeagle.so is in the java.library.path. To start with try:

java -Djava.library.path=/usr/local/lib -jar beast.jar

or where ever you have installed it.

On Linux you can also set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

Do printenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH to see where it currently points and add the /usr/local/lib if not already there.
