Hi all,

I have just posted two downloadable tutorials by Philippe Lemey and his group on performing the
discrete and continuous phylogeography models using (largely) the graphic user interface:

http://code.google.com/p/beast-mcmc/downloads/detail?name=Continuous_Phylogeography_1.7.5.zip

http://code.google.com/p/beast-mcmc/downloads/detail?name=Discrete%20Phylogeography.zip

Both contain a detailed PDF worksheet and the data for the analysis (we use these for running
workshops).

Be sure to update to BEAST 1.7.5 to run these as they will not necessarily work with older versions.

I hope these are of use.

Andrew

Similar tutorials for BEAST 2.0.2 have been available for a while now:

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the tutorials. I was trying the tutorial for the continuous phylogeography and it works fine with the data provided. But when I perform it with my own data, I always end up with invalid values (see attached screen shot). I have tried many different models and have adjusted many values and as well not adjusted them at all.. but I can not get it working. Do you have any suggestion on how to solve this problem? Or has anyone seen this before?

Thank you in advance!

Anouk
