Good afternoon! New version of the BEAST has the issue. Before starting the BEAST I take off the BEAGLE check-box (I haven't the BEAGLE library) but the program try to run the BEAGLE anyway and can't find it! Consequently it doesn't work at all! :(

Hi Artem,

Why not install BEAGLE?  May also need Java SE Developmental Kit.

Best,
Kai

##this is from a previous discussion###
I am running Windows 8.1, and even though I had JRE7 installed, I took Gehara's advice and downloaded Java SE Developmental Kit 7 and BEAGLE now works with BEAST:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html

After many failed attempts of getting BEAGLE to work, despite correct loading of OpenCL and NVIDIA drivers, I now have a functional BEAST-BEAGLE test run:

Hi Kai! Thank you for your reply! I use Linux. I installed BEAGLE but I got an error:

"INFO:   BEAGLE function, create, returned error code -6 (No resource matches requirements)
Fatal exception: No acceptable BEAGLE library plugins found. Make sure that BEAGLE is properly installed or try changing resource requirements.
java.lang.RuntimeException: No acceptable BEAGLE library plugins found. Make sure that BEAGLE is properly installed or try changing resource requirements."

I installed all Java's that I know (jdk8, jre8, oracle) :(

Oh my... I did that. But I have to use terminal command "~/Desktop/Работа/BEASTv1.8.4/bin$ ./beast -beagle -beagle_SSE -threads 8 input.xml" to run the BEAST with BEAGLE. I don't understand why the BEAST doesn't see the java by running like a shell script.

It works for me under Ubuntu 16 (for both BEAST v1 and v2). I don't know what might be the problem, but "beast -beagle_info" may help to troubleshoot.

Good luck!

BEAST v1.10 will require BEAGLE to run for almost anything, so in the future BEAGLE will have to be installed if you want to use BEAST.
