Dear BEAST users:
 
I would like to know exactly what does the "maximum clade credibility" tree mean? what is the difference with the majority rule consensus tree?

I know this is an old post, but it seems there is some confusion about the definition of an MCC tree. According to the wiki/manual linked below, it's "the tree in the posterior sample that has the maximum sum of posterior clade probabilities." More recent posts by Andrew Rambaut indicate that the wiki is incorrect, and that the MCC tree is the tree that has the maximum product of posterior clade probabilities.


It would be helpful to fix that in the wiki page/manual.
